I did machine wash them, which got rid of almost all the big stains, then I tried cleaning them with laundry soap and water, but it doesn't look good.

Check out Naked and Famous' Weird Guy cut, especially the high rise version if you can find it. In general, you should be looking for pants with a relaxed top block and a tapered (not skinny) leg.
You could also check out Docker's Alpha collection if you're on a budget. They're not jeans, but they're made well. I have a pair of Alpha chinos that is still going strong after 3 years of regular wear.

Although between the timbs vs. docs debate I would say that it all really depesnds on the aesthetic and silhouette you are going for. Okay so I bought two pairs of Levis 510 in midnight blue. One a 29X32 and one a 28X32. I can get the 29's relatively easily. But I can get the 28's on with a little more effort. Tried levis 508s, but they just highlight my chunky thighs. 514s fit great in the thighs, but flair out like boot cuts below. 511s are skin tight and awkward as fuck.

drapes depend largely on the materials used, a medium viscose tee will probably drape much better than a large cotton tee. AA does viscose tees fairly cheap, but i've never handled them and couldn't tell you about drape, fit and quality. then again it might be worth your time to save up for a nicer piece instead of just buying an oversized shirt.
