Style.com live video coverage:
Nowfashion image coverage:
>instagram tag #rickowens for live updates from showgoers
i dont see it
Will he incorporate the mermaid suit into this collection? It's the perfect summer look
>is nowfashion stream closer than rick's site?
rick website is video
nowfashion is image
what do you think would be quicker ya idiots
>it's the same stream
wtf does this even mean
one is video one is photo they are being provided by 2 different organizations what does "same stream" mean
lmao fat manlet wearing dreamboxes
>the only people with decent fits are rocking head to toe rick
poorfags of /fa/ getting BTFO
lol got an email from rick newsletter just now about the show
Not quite so. Remember the Rick birthday gift, a collage of memes? He claimed he was behind it and he is constantly promoting Rick here (I mean he told them he is like an advertiser). Got tickets this way.
but seriously did you guys catch that qt that just walked down the aisle
pretty dece fits
I assume the woman is in rick?
everyone is sitting down!
You guys catch these Engineers from Prometheus walking by?
Silver shoes are sick
daily reminder that Raf already used Nicki for FW11
Raf > Rick
wtf this is NOT rick, i refuse to accept that rick designed any of these outfits, too much color and they dont even look goth ninja
too much unwearable stuff imo. and not unwearable as in that it looks to crazy. unwearable as in dumb not practical at all, with annoying hanging a lot of annoying additional hanging fabric plastered on
Holy shit so much room for creativity with these think of all the ways you could style or wear it
He has never used that many different colours in the one menswear show before. I never commented on geometrical patterns. This show was a marked deviation from what he has presented over his entire career and you know it. He's always said how his aesthetic is very specific and it's difficult for him to continuously create new collections every season within the narrow confines of that aesthetic, but he's said he doesn't care if he has to present the same collection every season he wouldn't deviate from it but this collection really does mark a pronounced move in a different direction for Rick.
Wow, amazing, truly great for you. I'm talking about the fucking internet. An entry level DSLR, 5mbps, and a hdmi cable later and you have an amazing stream.
>> + fourteen
Best piece of the collection, try to prove me wrong.
Pro-tip: you can't.
Actually maybe it costs a lot to set up a stream if you're not using something like twitch/youtube etc
I don't know if it's going to be a move in a new direction.
I agree that it is a departure from his normal aesthetic.
I really, really hope he gets back to more traditional designs from his golden age (imo) 2007-2010 for FW
We lunar now.
Sole is pretty damn nice.
I say this all the time but I'd really like to see more people doing Rick beyond the Tshirt + Shorts + Sneakers combo or the Leather Jacket + Skinny Bottom + Boots Combo
I mean these are obviously really interesting and cool clothing and I think it's a shame that you don't see many people wearing his coats or other interesting pieces
it looks like the there is lacing on the inside, so maybe the outer shell is removeable.
that would look pretty cool imo. im not really a fan of the floppy things on the side.
>implying i will be able to afford these
oh and if i would get them, i'd get all blacks of course
mfw deluded fanbois think the sole is a rigowns® original
Has it occured to anyone that all black is really, really fucking boring and tiresome?
Been thinking about it for a while now but this collection put the nail in the coffin for me
All black can look cool but unless you're being super original or creative with the outfit you're putting together it doesn't really look that great, just looks like you're a trend following fuccboi
Really love the colors in this collection, hoping to incorporate some of it into my wardrobe
Yeah for sure, but I've just seen so much of it and I'm fucking tired of seeing it, including on myself. I want to try new things.
twerk is a good example of doing Rick in other colors and I think it looks cool
Not a big fan of Rick actually own 0 of his clothing, just speaking about fashion in general
>conye clone buttblasted
>Has it occured to anyone that all black is really, really fucking boring and tiresome?
I should write a copypast RE: this.
Honestly no. It usually does look boring if you can't spend quite a lot of money on your fit though because you end up with boring textures/shapes.
There's so many interesting aspects to a garment outside of its colour. Imo colour is often actually pretty restricting because crazy shapes/textures tend to look tacky and kitsche when they're not done in black
That's not to say a bit of colour is bad.
Does NowFashion show a livestream of the shows? Yohji's runway show is in two hours and I would like to know if I'm going to be able to watch the whole show or if I have to wait till it's over to catch photos of the fits
nowfashion doesn't, style.com does.
nowfashion only uploads pictures
kinda sucks that they dont have a stream for the bbs show though, i guess i'll have to wait for the pictures
Nowfashion is "live" AKA "relatively fast" but it is impossible for them to get the photos up as they are happening, there is always a 15+ minute delay after the show starts that the photos start coming up.
Style.com does not provide livestream themselves, they are only a platform for brands that have set up a livestream, which most brands don't.
BBS sucks anyways
>colour is often actually pretty restricting
using black is just a cop out or conceals bad fits though
>crazy shapes/textures tend to look tacky and kitsche when they're not done in black
maybe that's a sign they don't work
Damir is in 1 hour, and Dries is in 1 and a half, right?
this is like post-post-apocalyptic "i'm chillin on mars with my slien homies" shit
it's cool, i'm not really feelin' it tho
I always thought that planning fashion shows was an extremely serious and involved task
>be my brother
>Living and going to school in NYC
>He goes to the New School, containing Parsons, Eugene Lang, and some other schools
>Gets scouted by a Parsons student in the library in February this year
>Took a photoshoot of 2 (only 2) photos wearing SLP pants
>A month later he was contacted
>invited to a restaurant to meet hedi slimane
>They didn't eat at the restaurant, he just went there, tried on pants in front of hedi, was told not to cut his hair, and sent on his way
>contacted a month later telling him that he's going to Paris for fashion week
>fast forward to now
>he just arrived in Paris two days ago
>he's finding out whether or not he's in the show (SLP, which closes fashion week on the 29th) today
>He hasn't even walked for them yet
>This is his first day of ANY kind of modeling training
What the fuck /fa/?
Well yeah but his roommate was a British model who was told THE FIRST DAY he got to Paris that he wasn't gonna be in the show. And the plane tickets were complimentary. I guess that's what fashion designers do with all of that left over money.
This is my brother btw, in the left middle of the picture. If you want him to make it post THANK YOU HUNGRY SKELETON.
designers can have whatever people they want in their show. Hedi does that a lot, the brothers who opened and closed the fall winter last year were just scouted because they were performing, they're some indiefag band neither of them signed or anything. They had 0 training or experience. Many models go through 'training' and stuff but at the end of the day you're just given stage direction and you do the best you can with that.
the ramone boots look sorta acceptable for the rick crowd, but the addidas collab on the other hand.... lord
Why are you guys flipping out over the springblade sole?
>using black is just a cop out or conceals bad fits though
you should really start looking more into clothing and fashion before you throw theories and opinions around
since you're on /fa/ and likely know about four or five designers, i recommend you start with Yohji Yamamoto: The Poet of Black and go from there
or keep watching anime and praying for a gf, whatevs
i like black as much as i like working with colors but honestly, in context of what i've seen on this board, i think people opt for black or basics due to it's ease rather than textures and cuts
not to say some people here get it right sometimes though
Everything I have seen so far is just fucking awful
I mean who seriously wears this shit? Am I being trolled?
please tell me this is a joke
posting something else to clear the air
Most of the pieces are pretty wearable, the only really weird ones are those strange denim vest things and the shirts with a blob of fabric hanging off the front (which is probably removable anyway).
>i think people opt for black or basics due to it's ease rather than textures and cuts
This so much
The amount of people I see parroting that Yoshi Yamalamadingdong quote about black and then praising "sick fits" consisting of a black bomber, a black tee, black jeans and black shoes is way too much.
This is one of the more wearable looks in the collection, I thought. I want, no, I need this jacket.
