Just something that's been on my mind, lately. Thinking of unlikely, but fun pairings of items with starkly contrasting style or proportion or whatever that feels spot on, each in their own weird way.
The shape of the tailored pant and cuff with the specific, clunky proportion of the shoe did it for me with my example. There's something goofy, but honest about putting the two together.
Just wondering if this is ever something that crosses other people's minds.
I love this sort of stuff. Rocking Nikes with dress pants and a graphic tee or something.
I always used to be afraid of doing it, but I'm a lot confident now with it all.
saw this on tumblr and liked it a lot. it's hard to find good examples that aren't just "japanese people being good at things", pic related is probably one that most people will hate but i love hapsical anyway and its so ridiculous that it works for me on some arbitrary level.
yup! new season release i believe
yeah I think about this a lot
I know that dude the-arm on sufu (posts as teddy on here) has some fits of rick owens and vans sk8 high which I thought were cool.
Also I like seeing blazers worn in interesting ways
Yeah. I normally think the sneaker and sock with pant thing always does it for me, but that proportion makes the exposed back at the ankle feel like a more sensible way to resolve the line from the pant's wider cuff to the exaggerated throat of the shoe.
Also been really liking very tailored, boxy shapes layered over really long and fluid, but casual silhouettes. Something like pictured over a long, simple jersey dress, even a tank dress.
Not a big fan. Seems like his more recent fits, where he's just putting together simple, sporty, unassuming things has worked better.
I've also daydreamed about how to fuck around with a fluorescent, almost utility sort of color. Like pinning this on a thick black knit under a coat or something.
That's a weird way of saying "looks like shit." Some off pairings work, some don't, this falls in the 'don't' category because it makes it look like your shit tastes come about from trying way too fucking hard.
Sneakers don't go with anything well, you have the relationship backwards. Dress shoes look good with less formal things like jeans and a T-shirt or with a military jacket.
The reverse does not hold. Wearing raggety shoes with dressy cloths makes you look like a literal bum.
That looks shit, hence why no one has commented on it, is so bad everyone wants to just ignore it.
That's how your unfashionable dad would dress for your faggy lacrosse game when you were 10.
love the way this kigurumi was paired with rick and supreme
don't get me wrong, Ella seems genuinely in love with James... but fuck... she could do better lolol
Agreed. I always liked pic related.
lorde is ugly
plus she's 17, idk how he even puts up with that. she's prob annoying as fuck
>plus she's 17
this is a lie spread by the jew media tbh and I refuse to believe it
beggars cant be choosers,
you should be the first to know that smh
i've met Ella, she seems really really mature.
You can usually tell when girls put it on, but she acknowledges she hasn't lived the experiences yet.
James is a sweet dude, looking at them reminds me of like an ugly version of my folks
>my vb is ready
i think you mean your butthole is ready for the pounding it's going to take from the MIGHTY MAROONS
I cant do the chunky shoes with adidas shorts and a nike graffic tee. too much. needs to get rid of the graffic tee imo.
I personally would never wear nike/adidas/anyshoe branding without repping the shoe. like if im gonna have a giant nike on my chest, im gonna wear nikes.
it's gon be rough
glorious deutschland winning will make up for it though
LOL Eat shit Dyke
Not something I'd ever wear properly but I went to a fancy dress party once based around the idea of mixing and matching clothes and I went in a suit with a Bayern München top instead of a shirt and everyone there really liked it.
I meant they liked it in the context of the party being based around wearing things that don't go together. It looked stupid but the obviously a costume kind of stupid so it worked that night.
Would really love to see more Rick paired with fun, cheery stuff like Vibskov, Wilhelm.
I guess Eugene Tong does a lot of what I'm talking about, but he's pretty specific in his street vs. tailoring thing. Really pissed I didn't order this vest for myself. I would have a million uses for it.
Does anyone have the pic of the dude wearing ramones and supreme shit? I think he had a bucket hat too
Also I love this stuff so I'll post a few, heres some Dior with gyakusou
Siki Im and Vans (admittedly not the best fit)
Creepers with a techish jacket
I'll see if this thread is alive later and more
so that makes everything he wears good automatically? that's like saying that no designer has ever had an off season.
it's an unusual fit. he's a celebrated blogger who owns hype shit. each fit deserves to be viewed critically regardless of legacy
Let me play devil's advocate. How is that fit terrible? everything fits the dude (i think it's Christian/Chant from sz) well, the silhouette, textures, proportions, etc. all look to be executed well.
it seems like you're hating for the sake of hating.
personally i dislike the fit, but for my own reasons
not a qasa fan but i dig this
this shouldn't look good but it really does :)
dont think so
dude posted it on sufu like a month or two ago
i've always liked the look of low-key & toned down sweaters over button down/collared shirts. was hoping somebody here would have inspiration for baggy 'jersey' type shirts over button downs as well... [something with a basketball jersey cut instead of the sweater in pic related, perhaps?]
her oxblood loafers were a reason i felt that outfit [may or may not] be appropriate in this thread.
i am also messing around with the idea of incorporating a simple tailored black blazer into dense/heavily black and somewhat top-heavy silhouettes, to even things out - somewhat like pic related.
not exactly what i was describing, but i did like this outfit. jacket serving a similar purpose to what i was describing, though i was hoping to describe more of a 'flourish' near the waist caused by a baggier shirt underneath a close cropped jacket, darker shades, and a bit cleaner profile.
i'm making too many typos to feel compelled to continue posting.
here is one more that may fit the goals of this thread.
think they're sold out for the season in that colorway
they're low drkshdw (because they're canvas) ramones like mentioned a couple of times in the thread
