If you could recommend just 1-2 skin care products what would

My skin is slightly oily on nose, and dryish everywhere else, as well as patchy.

Its not that bad, but I dont like it.

And since I dont know anything about skin care, I'm just asking for some basic entry level not that expensive products that can help

the three things that every single skin care routine needs are:

it's always a good idea to consult a derm, but try cerave or cetaphil brand for those three products
