Let's get some actual fashion discussion in here
"Helmut Lang as seen by Shayne Oliver"
This is what Helmut Lang is nowadays, ladies and gentlemen

Compared to his past work, what do you think of SS18?
>>12753007
Are you fucking kidding me?

Those gucci slides in every picture.
Also that guy vaping during the show and that blond girl that thinks that she's Anna Wintour.
Almost forgot, Jerry "Rick Owens? Never heard about it" Lorenzo.
The crowd tells you what Helmut is know...
Also, the chernobyl-esque appearance of the models is due to having Walter Pearce (male Lotta Volkova) do the model casting (street casting, obviously).
This is because he does the same for HBA (remember HBA?) and Shayne Oliver is the founder of HBA.
The whole collection practically a very tasteless combo of Margiela and SLP sprinkled with an even less tasteful combo of HBA and, sigh, Vetements.
rip

I want to hear your reasoning.
>>12753022
ofc Helmut Lang nowhere to be found
(maybe some bondage aspects but very very few, and even when it is used it is maxed out to hilarity)
>>12753024
read post above and below yours

I guess this is what happens when you let someone else play with your heritage.
So what would you have done? What would you present? What's Helmut to you?
>>12752995
>>12752998
>>12752999
poor Helmut would be rolling in his grave, except he's not dead
>>12752995
Who buys this shit?
>>12752999
pants are cool here
but god damn what the fuck went wrong
>>12753058
I'm not a fashion designer (nor Helmut Lang lol) so I can't really answer the first two.
For me Helmut is literally the core of modern day fashion. Everything you can see on the streets nowadays comes from him: the jeans, the jackets, the details etc etc...
He inspired generations of designers to come (Raf to say the least).
He created the skeleteon for today's fashion to evolve around (both runway and real life).
Watching him take a Dirk Bikkembergs turn and becoming literal Supreme is just lame and pathetic (btw, yes I know he left like 10 years ago, I am talking about the brand and the house of fashion).
Anyways, nothing even remotely new to be honest, remember Travis Scott?
Ye, there was Travis Scott.

It just gets worse as you go down the posts. Jesus, this is hot garbage.
Heard that Fashion: The Century of the Designer has a good interview with Helmut.

Shayne Oliver having a spin on Helmut Lang is like having Asspizza doing Mona Lisa
>>12752995
so, whoever owns helmut knows that he's known for
>minimalism
>bondage inspiration
so they just picked the bondage designer they could find?
>>12752995
>nips hiring niggers to revive lang
good ruck
Does the same faith await Rick if he ever leaves?
>>12753945
Well A$AP tier nigger will eat it up as usual
shayne is just using helmut as an extension of HBA here
you could replace any helmut logos here with hba ones and it would have no resemblance or similarity to helmut at all
sad
>>12753951
well that's embarrassing
>>12753959
Same already happened to Raf (mainly due to adidas and the song)
Thankfully not that many spooks even know of Lang
...for now

These are what you get when you give head position job to Americuck designer..Seriously they can't design any shit
OG Helmut Lang was sexy, classy, minimalist and always superwell cut.
This literally looks like they collected the Helmut Lang models' retarded cousins and let them style themselves.
>>12752995
This tour trend is the most uninspired shit I've seen in a while.
>>12753950
rick owns the brand though so probably not
>>12755128
So did Helmut...
So what is Helmut doing nowadays? Why did he leave?
>>12755145
he makes art now. he made these totem sculptures from burnt archival pieces from his own collection
>>12755133
nah he lost majority to prada which is one of the reasons he left
