Are clothes vain?
Most men paid attention to their clothes with view to looking respectable until around the 1960s with hippies and whatnot instructing the Boomer to look like shit.
But the hippies were actually an engineered subculture. The purpose of them looking like shit, among other things, was to discredit the anti-war movement which had previously been more respectable.

nice. I think accessories are more important than clothes actually, like a guy with a beer seems cooler to me than someone wearing designer and just sitting on a train. Food says more about you I think.
