>the tongue of the shoe keeps sliding over to the left side
How do I stop this from happening?

You got the wrong size. Go down a half size next time, chief.
That's just a consequence of slick leather sliding against slick leather
I have put clear tape (transpore medical tape, for example) to try and limit it. You could also try roughing up the tongue with sandpaper for the same effect
Either way it's a consequence of the shoes being new

All my shoes do this.
Fucking annoying as fuck.

Nope.
Tight shoes, loose shoes, same story.

Nope.
Old shoes, new shoes, makes no difference.

also a result of the shoe design.
there's nothing keeping the tongue in place, other than the stitching at the bottom.
your foot slants outwards, and the tongue follows, sliding to the flat slant as you walk around.
I've heard of people stitching the tongue to the upper to stop the slide. you only really need to do so on one side.

many skate shoes have elastics keeping the tongue centred.

Ive had the same problem with sambas. Medical tape helped but I get that for free lol
>>12726415
my superstars always do that
>>12726415
this happens with literally all of my shoes, but only on the left foot. since in my childhood i've had posture and walking problems, with my left foot being especially fucked up, ive come to the conclusion that it's because i'm not walking correctly. not sure if it applies to you. you could always try sock-like sneakers such as gel lytes or karhu arias

This. I have a few pairs of primeknits - although I was pretty slow to catch on cuz I didn't like the look until trying them on - and I really like sneakers without tongues now
>>12726415
Most sneakers have a slit in on the tongue to thread your laces through so the tongue won't slide to the side. If you have a pair of shoes without the slit you can make one by cutting them open yourself.
You have to learn how to lace and tie your shoes properly and your tongue will stop sliding.

Tried this on meme smiths and it looked disgusting, the slit get all screwed up

came here to post this
although reebok classics tongue doesn't come with that loop
but the tongue is nice and wide and only ever so slightly slides down the slope of only my right foot, nice and straight on the left
