I've always loved the look but havent never considered actually buying them. The prices seem to high desu

The fact people will pay hundreds for shoes that look like beaters astounds me. The fun of Having a pair of beaters are all the memories you make beating them to shit

i had a pair of these back a few years ago. i liked them and still sorta miss them but i wouldn't spend the money again
just spent a month in japan and saw a ton of people rocking these.
They look good with the skinny black jeans/white shirt look most japanese seem to go for.
the ratio of people wearing high end sneakers in tokyo is higher than any other place I've ever seen. more than manhattan in nyc for sure

They look like the sort of hard to find now converse tennis shoes to me. Converse breakpoint I think is the model? They're $50 from Nike and were around WAAYY before these golden goose brand sneakers.
>>12722974
the breakpoint is still everywhere?
>>12723008
I dont know. Seems to be plenty of options online.
Also OP should check out the Converse Pro Leather. They can also be foundl lots of places online.

Hi brokebois, it's almost as if some people like the way these look and have a surplus of money to spend on them? Who woulda thunk it?
>>12722924
overpriced garbage, for the same amount you can get designer shoes
>>12722949
By the time normal shoes start to look like this they are literally falling apart. these wont be at all so you get to keep the look longer
>>12722924
I like the shoes but I really fuck with there clothing. Slept on AF.
>>12723018
The converse pro leathers are very similar. Wouldn't mistake them for a pair of gooses though
>>12723019
How are their leather jackets? Good quality?

My beaters lasted a long time after they looked like this, and they were some cheap nikes
One of my favorite brands and I would see people talk about them more often. I think they're very functional shoes and the distressed retro styling is rad. The leather is quality and they often use other materials like suede or canvas to good effect.
I own 2 pairs, a leather white Low top with grey laces and a grey star and a blue heel in back. Kind of their most classic shoe. The other is the suede high Top Francy model, it's brown with a silver leather star.
There are 2 main issues with their shoes, the heels drag very easily and wear quickly. I owned one shoe for 2 years, the heel complexly broke through so I got a new pair. After 3 months walking around New York the heel has taken a beating. Not to the same level of the 2 years but it is significant.
Otherwise I've had some really squeaky shoes, two models I purchase years ago came squeaky out of the box, but the newer models haven't had the same issue. Maybe they fixed it.
Also check out some of their stuff besides the shoes, some nice hoodies and jackets.

Speaking as an athlete, and some who has had foot issues, you should not be wearing a casual shoe for more than a year if you spend any amount of time on your feet.
If you're putting hundreds of miles on them tramping around NYC, then you should toss them out even sooner. Maybe if you rotated it with another pair of shoes, then you could stretch it out to two years. You are doing the older you some real damage.
These designer shoes should be treated like dress shoes if you cant afford to replace them regularly.

these were the first gg I saw and I thought they were retarded
kinda sad that normies have jumped onto this meme, they're fine looking sneakers (though I'd rather get converse) but the 'distressing' is really bad taste desu
>>12727181
that's the thing, I did rotate between at least 3 other pairs of shoes. They just wear quickly in the heel. I am also curious now though, did shoes in this vein cause your feet damage?
>>12727889
fair point, I don't expect anybody to buy the shoe with duct tape on it, but I do find it funny so it doesn't really bother me.
>>12727889
What would happen if i tore it off

You risk knee pain and plantar fasciitis
>Plantar fasciitis is more common in runners. In addition, people who are overweight and those who wear shoes with inadequate support have an increased risk of plantar fasciitis.
