if you look at the different lengths of hair, it looks like the top is about the same length as the sides really. Alternatively, you could just start growing it out and worry about that in a few months when it's long enough.

Trim that shit. You can get the ends thinned if it looks too bulky but I doubt it will at that length. They can do light layering/ shaping at the bottom too so it's not so blunt.
Also (importantly) please braid your hair when you sleep (probably lightly if you don't want waves) or at least wear a ponytail. I would never sleep with my hair out, it's so bad for it. Also brush from the ends and work your way up, though it shouldn't get so tangly if you wear a protective style. Never had to spend so long detangling mine and I have strong waves.

Hey guys, need some help with my hair. As a kid I always had really light, thin blonde hair. Now I am 18 and although its sorta thin it has thickened up a lot but the colour has gone to a much dirtier blonde/ light brown except for some of the hair right at the very top. This leads to my hair looking super messy when it is just a little ruffled and I quite like lighter blonde so I want to know what I can do to lighten that shit up especially around the dark parts.

i've got extremely thick hair and my lower face isn't manlet-tier I know it'd look good

i was at the right length & everything so I went to a local barber to get the sides and back cut short + the bangs trimmed right

gave him pictures and everything. turns out being in a rural town and asking for anything other than an undercut or ceaser is asking me for trouble

fucker started thinning the top of my hair w/ shears even though I said to leave it thick, and by "trimming" the bangs he cut off an inch of hair and gave me blunt bangs

i went in so excited for my new effay cut, and left looking like Spock / a grown out ceaser. he didn't even give me a bad version of what I showed him in pictures, he just gave me a completely different fucking cut to what I asked for.

and it happened quick, he just started thinning the top and the first cut at the bangs was way too high, I knew what was going to happen and had to accept it.
