Assuming they don't just stay in that middle area all the time.
Do you just have to carry two sets of glasses?

You realize the point of transition lenses is that they transition from regular glasses to sunglasses when exposed to UV light, right? They don't just "stay in that middle area" unless it's a marginally cloudy day and you're outside and don't go in (or maybe you live in one of those parts of England that the sun has vanished from and carry around a little UV light to shine on you 24/7). When you're in a lit up room after coming in from outside (which I assume you do, seeing as you're probably not homeless), it will take way too long for the tint to go away from the glasses. It looks pretty autistic.

Sure, if you are set on wearing sunglasses. A set of glasses and a set of prescription sunglasses. An alternative would be contact lenses and a set of sunglasses.

Aviators are the ONLY way to pull off transitions, and it's pretty much mandatory sleezecore of you go with light tinted aviators.
