What's the best levi jean number?
>>
510
>>
501
how can you even argue otherwise
>>
I'm really into the 512 slim taper right now. Like a much better version of the 511
>>
501 "skinny"
>>
>>12662071
>What's the best levi jean number?
505 and 501 are the only ones I buy
>>
>>12662114
how's the rise on them? not a fan of the low rise of 511s
>>
501 are pretty solid. They have slim and tapered options too with a better quality denim but for 30-40$ daily beaters 501 are solid.
>>
>>12662071
Depends on your body. I have thick thighs and I like 514s

>>12662302
what should I wear if short but skinny legs?
>>
whatever fits
modern levis production is so inconsistent that the number and size tags are only a rough estimate
>>
What levi's are slim but with a medium/high rise?
>>
501 ct, 505 c
>>
>>12662424
Skinny jeans with a short inseam
>>
>>12662636
Thanks, dude, always been my biggest issue when it comes to buying clothes
>>
69
>>
>>12662444
this. bought levis jeans 2 years ago with great quality. bought 501 again this time almost shitty quality and they were so fucking much smaller like 3 numvers wtf?
>>
>>12662071
511
>>
>>12662746
>>12662444
Agreed. Also different colors of levis have completely different textures, it's insane.

I don't know who else to buy jeans from though.
>>
511, 512, 514, Vintage 501, 501 "skinny", and 505 c. Levi's cuts are inconsistent nowadays anyways so I'd suggest trying a lot of cuts on.

I wear basically only black and light blue wash Levi 501s

What sneaker/shoe would match that look? I have a pair of white AF1 lows, but something more comfy would be great. What about pic related?

thanks guys
>>
>>12663054
too techy and millennial

any shoes designed before 2000 should look fine with them
>>
508. Too bad they stopped making them. The 541 look too big for my liking.
>>
which cut comes closest to pic related (levi's or other, seeing as there doesn't seem to be a denim general)? struggling to find something that has a decent mid rise and is still relatively slim
>>
>>12663298
those are high rise not mid

nobody makes jeans like that for men you will have to buy women's
>>
I bought some 511s and really regret it. They're much too wide at the ankle, fit is fine until my calves
>Inb4 get better legs
I ride my bike 1.5 hours a day 5 days a week my legs are fine
>>
>>12663320
you don't need to fill out the ankles of your pants
>>
>>12663321
I'll post pic in 3 hours when I'm home from work. I look ridiculous in them
For the record I'm 5'11" and 70kg with low bf
>>
>>12663326
Yeah, I had something similar with a pair of PBJ XX-013. They basically end up having a pseudo-bootcut look. Take them to a tailor and get them tapered slightly from the knee down.
>>
what levis are the best for wearing diapers under?
>>
>>12663340
>pseudo-bootcut look
>slim tapered
are you sure you know what bootcut means
>>
>>12662071
What levis fit slim around the legs that are not skinny?
>>
>>12662071

WHO 550 MASTERRACE HERE?
>>
>>12662444
so damn true. bought some 511s at one store, went to the same store a month later and the legs dont taper as much and somehow the waist is larger despite it being the same size

its some goddamn bullshit my dudes
>>
>>12663350
yes. it's a common complaint about 005/013; due to the tightness of the taper at the knee they can appear slightly flared in the lower leg/calf section, hence 'pseudo-bootcut'. ok, now make another pithy shitpost
>>
>>12663369
>tightness
>appear flared
pics? this sounds very contradictory

how tight do you need the ankles to be lmao
>>
>>12663364
512 slim tapered. Their slim 511 fit (which has erred towards more of a slim-straight fit lately) but with a taper towards the bottom. If that's not slim enough, don't be afraid of the 510s which aren't as skinny as the name let's on.

That's incredibly useful, thanks my dude!
>>
501s are the only Levis I buy.
>>
>>12662722
Bagagaga
>>
>>12662444
This. Have an amazing pair of 501s and a shit pair of 501s

The shit pair was bought new and has worse feeling, thinner denim and a lower rise
>>
Nobody here wears 513s?
>>
I dunno, Levis are so hit and miss these days as many others have said ITT. Good Levis are god tier imo but you can't go by numbers anymore. That said I own two pairs of 511s and I love them both. *That* said they are both cut differently despite being the same number. Hit up a store if you can and try different pairs on.

The ones that are heavily based on the 501 except they have room for legs with actual muscle on them. I forget the number.

When buying Levi's check where they're made.
Here's what I've got so far:

Shit tier factories:
Turkey
China (not sure if they're fakes I assumed so but they've got legit labels and stitching)

Good Tier:
Bangladesh
Pakistan
USA
>>
Is it worth getting Levi's second hand if possible? The prices the stores have are extortion but my size is annoying to find (manlet is a city of giants)
>>
>>12664295
Yeah totally, I've bought a few just ask the seller to tell you where they were made.

Cheers. I've got a few already and they're great, just barely fit me is all. I'm lucky to live in a student town with lots of vintage/second-hand shops so there's always some I can get, just means waiting to find my size
>>
>>12662071
I used to love Levi's but over the last ten years the quality and fit has drastically changed. The 510s now fit like the 511s.
>>
>>12664306
I have some Spanish ones from the 80's and they are nice too
>>
>>12663054
I'm wearing those right now and they look great with black jeans
>>
>>12662075
this
>>
>>12662146
I tried them on in store, great fit in the leg but unfortunately really low rise
>>
>>12664306
Shit tier factory for Shrink-to-fit
>Mexico
They have "white cone denim" but the 501 fit fucking awful with way too much flare at the ankles and bad stitching. Even after wearing them in for an entire month they still are too roomy in the calves so its impossible to roll them.
>>
>>12665827
501s are straight leg what did you expect? they've been like that since they were first designed

If you want skinny jeans go to h&m lol
>>
>>12665870
They have close to a 17.5 inch opening, not straight leg. My calves are swimming in them far too much. The only ones I got decent from the Mexico factory were the 501cts
I say this, having stopped into a new outlet store that levi opened up here recently and tried on the stores 501s because I wasn't happy with what I ordered online and the stuff in the store fit much, much better. Not to mention the loose stiching all over the place and the ugly seam of the jeans.
>>
>>12665878
As a person who regularly wears 501s, i've never in my life seen a pair with a leg opening that wide. 8" at the most, and all have definitely been straight through the leg.

What's your waist size?
>>
>>12665884
16inch is the standard straightleg opening on 501s. I put it on Levi wanting to offer higher quality raws/selvedge jeans but not having quality control at their new mexican factory.
>>
>>12664306
Poland is also shit-tier
>>
Why do all of their slimmer cuts have elastene in them now? I swear they used to have 100% cotton slim cuts before.
>>
>>12665973
because athleisure is popular now and levis wants to make their jeans feel more like sweatpants
>>
>>12662071
512 of you're a bigguy
>>
>>12665973
Probably for comfort and so they can fit slimmer. You ever try to take a pair of jeans off that have a small leg opening that aren't lightweight and are all cotton. It's a bitch.
>>
>>12662755
bretty gud
