Are sneaker-specific cleaning products worth buying or is that just sneakerhead nonsense?

thinking of getting some sneaks for walking and general purpose, but I'd kind of like them all/mostly one colour. always used to buy black but I want something different. sportswear shops always seem to have the ugliest colourways of shoes unless you go black or white. so I was thinking white, but new white sneakers are too loud for me. should I get white ones and scuff them up? is it going to be a major pain in the ass to try to find, say, plain grey?

I got my Air Yeezy 1s for under $800 but they were slightly beat and needed the restore. 2's are still stubbornly high, you just can't get a pair for under 1500. I don't even know if anyone is buying them at that price to be honest. I feel like people are just trying to let them go for that price, but since they're Air Yeezys no one is really desperate to dump them and so just refuse to come down. I wouldn't pay $1000+ for 1's that weren't completely deadstock.

Yeah that's my only struggle with it. I already copped and so far I can only fit them into my soundcloud rapper type fits as an ozweeego, air max, clunky shoe substitute. Though I've been gravitating towards a comfy tech-y style lately which probably way better suits them. Only gripe with them is they're not comfortable whatsoever but apparently they need to break in. And that almost certainly will happen unless you only wear them indoors, and even then it's not ruled out. Those things will get a leak before the rest of the shoe is even close to geting worn out and you'll have to trash them.

Ugly too, looks like you stepped in tupperware. Old school air max looked alright and I've had a few pairs, but the little air pocket window was always silly and now they turned that into the entire sole. It's dumb.

I own a pair. For running, don't even think about it, the shoe is meant to be more of a sporty lifestyle casual shoe than a real sport shoe. For lifting I think the sole is stiff enough, so you should be fine.
