I would go with a light or middle tone tortoiseshell or deep brown.

IMO frames look best when they're darker/more colorful than your skin but feature a color (or colors) lighter than your eyes. Dark eyes means you can push how dark your frames go (black is universal...universally boring, that is) so going with a darker tortoiseshell with more subtle flecks of the lighter amber color is a safe bet.

Matte colors are shitty remnants of the early to mid 2000s, so avoid them. I don't like the woodgrain-style but in some colors it can work, usually tacky though. If you want some metal framing, silver is usually best but if you can find something you like with copper or brass, that's fine too considering your skin/eye color. Don't get anything that makes you look like an engineer or pedophile,

Yes, have the oliver. The frame seems good so far, very well polished. The lenses seem to pick up particles and smudge easily though, so I clean them more often than my past glasses. I would say they're a solid 4/5 in terms of quality though, just wish the lenses didn't require as much cleaning

Its killing me whenever I look down (without moving my head to look down), like for a moment at a keyboard, paper or something, I see the edge of the glass.

Really the only glasses I have that dont do this are aviators since they go all the way down to my cheeks..

But for non-sunglasses, I feel like I have no option but full atticus finch hipster glasses to eliminate this issue

I have the same prescription as you, I'm having a problem though: I love glasses and have been contact-less for five years now, I don't miss the hassle of taking them in/out and I am terrified by the health risks associated with them...

However I recently realized that having glasses at my prescription is making my eyes/head look tiny, especially face-on and at certain angles. I feel very awkward about it. I'm almost driven to go back to contacts and just wearing fake frames (though for the reasons stated before, I really don't want to go back to contacts).

I am at the 1.67 whatsit high index, if I go with the (really expensive) material option (I forget what it is called), will this minimize the effect due to thinner lenses, or will the effect still be present just by way of prescription and how it bends the light around the shape?

I tried those on a few weeks back, ended up getting the RB3447V instead. Did you at least try them on before buying? To be honest, the oval shape, plus the gold finish looks really fucking weird. Maybe it's because I have a huge face/head but they seemed really small, unlike most Ray-ban frames. Gold frames look sick but wearing them everyday seemed super impractical for me.
