I'm going to art college this year. What do art students usually wear? And what should I wear to fit in better?
>>
Why do they stand like this?
>>
dont go to art college, honestly. biggest waste of money
>>
>>12582607
She wasn't born with the ability to walk backwards, asshole
>>
>>12582609
Sadly agreed.
Graphic design is a shrinking field because it's what everyone with an art degree falls into when they realize they can't live off of selling prints.

In this day and age if you have a market for your art you should know it already. Social media makes it pretty easy to tell.
>>
>>12582607
It's to be level with the subjects eyes
>>
>>12582607
Lower, slightly farther back angle
>>
>>12582609
Yes and no, it depends on what school you're in and what area you're studying in. Graphic design and interior design are not ones that are usually a waste of money. I'm currently in fine arts, and I can say it's a waste of money, luckily my major isn't set and I'll be changing it to graphic design.
>>
>>12582607
Tourists frame based on how they stand.
Art graduates stand based on how they frame.
>>
>>12582627
wow this is deep, artists are so cool, they see things that other people cant!
>>

>>12582618
I kind of agree with this and ive seen failed art kids piss out shitty designs with any lack of substance and originality, sad bit is when they get paid or hired for it. Oh well, makes me feel better about myself when I finish my diploma

What about studying fashion design? Raf studdied industrial design which is in my opinion between art and STEM. Later he became a fashion designer.
>>
>>12583592
Raf is talented. Are you?
As I would say you indeed should study textiles, tailoring etc. as those are practical things you can hardly learn yourself, it stays same as with any other artsy degree.
Do you have talent? Not a simple answer, but a practical example. No? Are you manipulative, charismatic and can lead a group of people in a way that they can understand what you want from them asap? Considering you are on 4chan not.

Design, fashion etc. are studied in 9/10 cases in expensive private unviersity. Even with connections you can't get anywhere without talent and leading skills since fashion isn't "single race" like painting or music. Think about it, don't end up with jewish debt up your ass working in shitty job you hate. Because "bbut I studied my hobby" won't help you in real world.
>>
>>12583653
I am coming from a Art background. Want to do something creative as its what I am good at and fashion is a good middle ground between creative and practical. Also my point is if you get a degree like that you can transfer to other fields like Raf did.
>>
Thread makes me miss 2012-era /p/
>>
>>12582598
Depends, there's no use if your're going to be covered in charcoal.
>>
>>12583679
You can try something risky, but it's always good to know if you have actual connections in this field for employment.

Also Raf lived inajpr fashion city and had enough Bohemian friends. Hence he knew head of Antwerp Royal Accademy, so of course he could transfer without any problem. Same with Jun Takahashi who new Kowakubo.

Just always keep in mind that there's no guarantee you can start your own label or work for prestigious high fashion one. Depending on university's image you can as well end up ripping off designers for Zara (a girl I know does but she is total pleb so whatever).
>>
>>12583580
Yo that's dope, what was working there like?
>>
>>12583700
I am in Britain and cant afford London. Is Manchester Metropolitan UnI good? Its certainly a town with a large creative community.

>>
>>12585354
Cutting, sewing, working with different textiles is practical skill though. It's basically tailoring.
No one says you will be doing it yourself as a designer, but you SHOULD know how clothes are built and how fabrics work.
>>
>>12585386
very few people actually design clothes and most are made in sweatshops.
there is no demand
