Here is what I usually like to wear when I am out and about in the city/nature.

-Waterproof/windproof pants with breathable zip vents.

-Assorted waterproof shoes/boots. White Nikes I wear when I KNOW it will not rain that day.

-Adjustable long sleeve shirts.

-TNF waterproof/windproof shell (also has fleece liner for colder days).

-Camouflage neck buffs for all of the mosquitoes we get in summer.

Where can I find a light jacket like those featured in Alien Covenant?
I'm looking for something like an Anorak, but parkas can work too I guess.

Firstly h lorenzo did sell aitor throup and has had a couple of pop ups/installations for him they were one of like 8 or 10 stores to carry the first g star stuff as well, i know for a fact they didnt sell through all the object research stuff and still had items as of last year in the warehouse whether or not you can actually buy them idk but, they did open the archive store this year so its possible.

Also Rob and I are the not the only people on 4chan to ever hear of or like h lorenzo nor are we the only people acquainted with how it works, i know at least 5 people from fa who work for/at h lo not to mention its one of the most successful and well known stores for avant garde fashion on the west coast and in the united states in general

Fellow rider and techwear dork here. I would get something purpose made for motorcycle riding if you're dedicated to it.
Any of these fashion brands are not made for riding, although there is a brand or two in the spreadsheet that actually makes motorcycle jackets.
I personally have a Dainese Tempest set in their D-dry, and it's great for all weather conditions. But it's not 'fashion' per se, it's your gear and people will accept you're wearing it because you're a rider.

Isnt that what a *SOFT* shell is for? Hardshells are supposed to be 100% waterproof, and provide minimal, if any, breathability.

Thats why a good softshell can cost over $1000... Where as hardshells dont see much benefit in quality(of materials) over $150... I bought an $800 arcteryx softshell, but my hardshell is just a columbia Hailtech2 that was $80... Since other than the DWR coating, theres not much you can do to it.

I don't think the majority of people in it take it that seriously. There is enough shitposting in the discord as well, just now there's a face to it.

I think when you put a face to yourself, there's a lot more pressure not to be critical and to stay hyper-positive when it comes to criticism or discussion. It's not on the same level as Reddit but it does emulate it in a way.
You then have the opposite problem with 4chan, where there is no face to the conversation and then it becomes nothing but vitriolic rage and shitposting. It becomes a competition to see who can have the most ebin bantz and get the most (you)s.

So yeah, maybe the small skype group would feel good, but I feel that such a small group would eventually turn into a bubble and a circlejerk.

It was a 4chan discord from the start, but just like /fa/ you have crossposters who will spread the invite link around. So instead of purging, the hope was that people would assimilate at some point. Some do, some don't. I don't make the call on these things, but it's still a space for open discussion in a more immediate way than a thread of /fa/.
The goal for these threads is to maintain a place for those who don't want to join the discord and just want to discuss the occasional news and questions. That's it really.
