Construction is worse (aren't even goodyearwelt), but CPs are really uncomfortable if you have above average foot width. Can't size up in this case either cause they look like clown shoes even with classic size one down.

As for the meaning of the shoe addidas is the closest to authentic as you can get.

Aside from nigger sneakers I think brand still produces good pieces each season. And it doesn't focus on streetwear at all, trousers, blazers, shirting. Also good basics, I really like their tees, but you are right, it isn't influential anymore.

Helmut Lang is really sad though, the Travis Scott collab to get at least some attention from streetwear kids.

The MMM GATs are great IF you want to spend more money on better quality.

The MMM GATs have an elastic band that keeps the tongue down, and with each season they're made in different leathers.

The Adidas ones are nice, if you just want a plain GAT but maybe a step up from the real German Army GATs, but I won't give up my MMM GATs because of the higher quality, elastic tongue, and lamb leather.

The only two real options are the MMM Gat and the Authentic Surplus Gat. Some adidas Samba ripoff isn't going to have anywhere near the same prestige as either Authentics or MMM Gats.
