Not really. They're cheap so lots of birdies buy them and think they are good. The sole is uncomfortable and the leather isn't all that good of quality. Imho I hate the silhouette but that's beyond the point. There's many better derbies to get of you need them in a service fit that doesn't include ugly yellow lace

I wear these. They're a pretty good and cheap boot that go with lots of things.

So what is a good alternative derby in Europe? I know there are lots of English shoe makers, but their derbies are mostly too formal and sleek. Is there nothing below 200 euro?

I like them as well.

I love Docs but the standard issue ones are made really low quality corrected grain leather...some of the smaller run models (pascal) are made of full grain leather and are you can get them cheap on sale...I just bought the 1460's in full grain 'charcoal' leather and theyre a lot nicer the standard ones; soft leather, nicer waxed laces etc but keep the same silhouette

in the UK theyre £60-£70 on amazon/ebay which is cheaper than most Nikes...theyre a lot better than that. Everybody here is 12 and from Freedomland though so take their opinions with a pinch of salt

yeah, got the same but smooth and they're really great, comfortable and sturdy (they look almost like new after two years of quite heavy use)

Don't own either but Solovair seems to be the patrician brand now and only old models/MiE Docs compare to them in terms of quality. I hear too many stories of China Docs cracking in a matter of months, so if you're going to do any real walking it makes no sense to buy regular Docs.
Probably gonna pull the trigger on pic related next month in black or oxblood, but shit like this I can ponder for eternity.

I'm kinda disappointed it looks like Solovair are switching to non-yellow stitching across the board, now.
It was because yellow-stitching got patented in the USA.
