I think that there is a current trend towards looser clothing ("~~loosewave~~", comfycore, etc). However, I think we're a bit far from abandoning the pant, though. Not gunna go full tunic anytime soon. The drape-y silhouette, like you said, is coming back, and is partially inspired by this look. I suspect that it's partially because the loose silhouettes might tend to look better, somewhat paradoxically, on people with a good physique. This rationale would make sense, given that being /fit/ and wearing athlesuire are both in vogue right now.

Could just be totally bullshitting though.

I agree, especially on the pants issue.
I own a few longer cardigans and I like how they drape on the body, which is the main reason for my interest in exploring this style.
However with my current physique I may run the risk of looking overly feminine.

i know what you mean. I'm about 5'7; at that height, its hard to pull off some looks just because the proportions don't make sense aesthetically. It helps to be tall and have a god-tier skeletal structure. There's a GQ article [1] - yes, I know, GQ blows, hear me out - where they dressed up Brad Pitt. The amazing part is that despite GQ sucking, Brad Pitt looked amazing. Why? He has the perfect body type. Everything fits him to a tee. He would probably look great in drape-y shit compared to, say, my frame.

You gotta make them very slim. I made my own and if you do it in the traditional way its too much extra fabric. Plus since its super simple you gotta find a way to make it not look ancient.
