Don't unless you're short and wearing a suit (a belt "cuts" you in half, reducing your perceived height) and the pants must have buttons inside the waist band to accommodate real suspenders, not those clip on things in the picture.

just preference. Ive been doing it as long as i have been wearing a watch. It started when my wrists were small enough that the tightest notch on the strap was still too loose, so the watch would just slip around to the inside of my wrist. I got used to it and now it feels really weird to not have it there.
