I've been cutting my own hair for a couple of years now, its easy enough when you get the hang of it especially since I only really do one style (the HY, I know).

If you have decent hair and a good hair clipper doing fades and shit shouldnt be a problem. I always trim my sides to 20mm, then 15mm a bit lower, 10mm, 5mm, 3mm, and without the comb/shield for cleaning my neck and temples. Then I cut the longer hair on top with a pair of scissors, it doesnt really have to be all that precise as it really wont show if there is a couple of uneven spots---xoxo
