Same question as last thread:

Wanting a pair of Rangers to take into gigs, festivals, the woods, generally as my beaters but with maintanance like waxing and polishing. Are Grinders worth it, what about Boots and Braces? (The latter has a nice rub-off burgundy-coloured pair on selection)

Here's a short version:

>use some old (clean) rag to wipe the boots after every use (nothing too specific, just wipe off mud and shit that gets stuck, you should also brush the creased areas as well)
>clean and wipe your boots
>balsam them 1-3 times a month, depending on how often you use them (use a shoe-brush or a sponge to spread the balsam/oil/dubbin evenly, use an old toothbrush for the creased points and the area between the boot and the sole, let the balsam dry for a while, then scrub with a shoe-brush or a towel to get the excess balsam left on the boot, repeat this as necessary if you want a nice, clean polish
>take out the insoles out after wearing them (for hygiene reasons)
>also, replace the insoles to some better ones (there are multiple kinds, some give you cushioning etc.)

And as for style, a pair of well-fitting, dark slim-fitting jeans is good enough. Tuck the leg inside the boot or roll it up to show off the leg. Wear a leather jacket or a parka for dem sweet look-shitty-but-in-a-effay-way-points. Don't wear flashy shit though, you'll end up looking like an awkward art-student that way.

>>

>>
>>12258410
Order online. I can't tell any stores apart from the ones we have here (Varusteleka.fi and Salainen Agentti), but look around online. Just get a big tub of saddle-balsam or something, good luck.

Or fuck it, support your local businesses, i buy my stuff mainly from the cobbler, it's a god bless to have one right in the center of the city, that place has fixed my boots twice by now (creases turned into holes).
>>
>>12258414
id love to buy stuff from a local cobbler, but theres not much near me, and they have kinda bad reviews. guess i can buy new laces from walmart desu. i hope i don't have to resole whole boots.
>>
>>12258427
Just take good care of them. As a last bit of advice: rotate your shoes. It's the reason people call Docs shit, because it's the only shoe they'll wear every day and skip taking care of them. That's how you end up with dirty, scuffed, messed-up boots.

Cavallk's from three years ago. Wanted a different take on chelsea boots and was surprised by the quality and softness of the leather.
>>
>>12258330
Basically what the other anon said however I prefer to use a a stiff brush to clean the boots, and a soft brush to buff them afterwards, also dont use too much balsalm otherwise the leather will become too soft and tear and be sure to actually polish your boots to keep them looking nice, Id recommend cherry blossom polish

>>12258482
I haven't owned either but cat boots feel like much more solid boots and they're heavier too which usually means more robust and better quality materials. I personally like the look of cats better and they still have the association of work wear rather than googles

How about you look around online? No outlets or stores (except in Britain) sell Solovair here either. It's a niche brand, Docs have almost all of the marketing and most recognition, so no wonder.

New to boot wearing.

Is there a guide I should use to know if a boots fit is right for me? I have my mental notes of what to look for in shoes from years of trial and error but no experience with boots
>>

Shoes are basically the same as boots, they'll take longer to wear in though. Other than that you'll be looking for all of the same stuff
>>
>>12259616
So for wear in, what should I expect during this longer wear in period? Pain, etc?

I am having difficulty finding boots like this.

What I'm looking for are a pair of "minimal" black boots with a crepe/flat sole, and with a side or back zipper. It's specific, but I know lots of designers have used this design (e.g. Rick, Damir Doma) - yet I can't seem to find anything that's in my size (US 8).

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Yeah, maintenance is important with every kind of boot, leather or not. Scrubbing off dirt, brushing, balsaming/oiling is par for the course when getting a pair. But sadly it's true, Docs have gone down in quality.

How much should you walk in a new pair of boots to break them in? I walk my dog for about an hour and a half every day, but I've only been walking in my boots a half hour because I'm worried about blisters. Is that enough to break them in properly after a month or too?

Should I cop? Saint Laurent FW14 leather sole combat boot. That season were made in Spain, which is supposedly better than the Italian made ones in later seasons.

Post pics of recs? I know they make many different styles
>>

yer laces dug into the leather and over time wore the dye off/wore down the top layer of leather

not really a big deal or that uncommon
you could re-dye the boots or touch them up if it bothers you

>>12268028
depends on the price, the rest of your wardrobe, and whether you care that you could get probably get nicer boots for a similar price

Soft leather. Tied too tight. Just wear and tear. Maybe even shitty leather
>>
is it even possible to find velcro boots

~$800 for the SLP combats. They're in new condition. What alternatives would you suggest? I like the slim profile and sole, narrow shaft and black calf upper.

I mean, I guess its okay if you really like Chelseas but I wouldn't have that many
Can you please post a fit with the blue suede(?) ones? They look really cool but I'm finding it hard to imagine them looking good in many fits

Where;s the next best place to get Austrian Para boots besides Kommando and that are in somewhat good quality?

Ivan doesn't reply to emails and the shipping is rape. Any places that ship to the UK for an alternative?
>>

I think it's just the angle, senpai

I've only worn them like five times, and the fit is great. Plenty of room for my toes, if I sized up I'd be swimming in them.

what are you talking about, anon? I see loads of boots.
>>
>>12269157
In good quality, you do realize that they are milsurp right?
They are most likely used, if the come in looking better it's just because they probably soaped, oiled, and polished the boots...
>>
>>12268554
What other sort of boots should I get to diversify?
I have the nike general combat boots, but they are impossible to construct a half decent fit with
