Undercut
If you need to ask this question it means you need to admit your Mommy always decided your cut for you and you need to learn how to do it yourself.
tell them how much effort you are willing to put into haircare
tell them how long you want it to be
show them a picture of what you want, it should line up with steps 1 & 2
Your best bet is to not go with what you want right now. Get a #2 crew cut and see how that looks on your face. Read the sticky. Develop a nice cut from there
Don't hop on trendy cuts if you're just now starting to be fashionable, you'll look retarded
Bowlcut is the only thing you need to know

Basic lingo (at least US):
clipper guards are numbered by 1/8in so #1 is 1/8in #4 is 1/2in etc... Usually the barber will have up to about a #8
With anything longer the barber is gonna use scissors so just tell them the amount you want off or the amount you want to keep (in inches) and they'll work with it
Usually you'll have a clipper in your sides (sides almost always means sides and back) and longer on the top, but it ofc depends
Talk to your barber about how you will be maintaining the cut etc... They are professionals, they will work with you on whatever you want to do. Having a picture is very very helpful
Other key words: tapered vs squared/hard back, soft/hard part, "fades" and undercuts, lineups

keep it simple:
>look up model haircuts
you can do this anywhere, even pinterest
>find some examples of haircuts you like and you think would suit you
>show the pics on your phone to your barber
you can ask for advice on which one they think is best or just tell them you want a particular one
