If anything being a professor is anti-fashionable. There's an attitude like fashion is superficial, and if you dress nice it's probably because your work isn't very good.

Nothing more effay than maneuvering your way through the political battlefield, fucking interns, screwing people over, bribery, corruption, all in the name of reaching power. Is being a Jimmy Johns delivery driver an effay job?

I make like $20 an hour after tips, get to wear all black for my uniform, and I even get to wear a more effay hoodie on deliveries. I rock some beater new balances during the winter but when its not slushy outside I can wear any shoes I want so I generally wear my Flyknits or Stan Smith PKs.

Plus I get to just sit in my car smoking cigarettes and listening to music/audiobooks in my car all day.

Honestly I would seriously recommend the job to anyone who wants to make decent money doing a job thats actually kinda fun and lets you be out on the town all day. As long as youre not a felon anyone can get the job

If you can make it through the absolute cancer that is regional airlines, then being a pilot for a major must be one of the comfiest jobs in the world.
>>
>>12207559
they dont pay that much anymore, requirements and requlations are simply ridiculus, its a short lived career and soon to be replaced by computers. on top of that majority of people involved in aviation, due to the character of constant move from place to place, living on the briefcase, simply cannot form strong bonds and relationships which in many cases ends either a divorce or quitting the job. to put it simply, its a young's lad game which sounds cool to the outside world, much like any other profession. in the end, if you're are really good plumber in the area where there is not many plumbers, you gonna make money regardless; and when you live where every second lad is a pilot, you will be struggling anyways

I acknowledged I was a piece of shit the day I started paying $100 for a t-shirt and $400 for shoes and $200 for a hoodie

But for real you're probably right. I am definitely too old for this job but if you understood my living situation you'd realize its the best I can get right now. Just trying to save money to move away from this small town to the city.

Regardless, being a delivery driver is a great job and I'd still recommend it highly. Literally the only job I've had that I've enjoyed

>>12204940
We get compensated $0.45 per mile driven which is way more than gas costs. Ideally you'd put the extra money you get from this into a savings account for oil changes and youd still have a lil left over.

Also thanks to tax season I get a $0.08 per mile reimbursement which came out to around $200 in my refund so that was nice

>they dont pay that much anymore

This is mostly true for the majors, though it's more like majors haven't increased wages faster than other professions. Regionals are getting """better""" though, the average salary for regional captains and FOs rose 20% since 2015, which make them a bit more appealing.

>its a short lived career and soon to be replaced by computers

This is a myth because most people think transportation = automation, but this is only applicable to ground transportation. Airliners (and also maritime ships) have been automated to a large extent for more than a decade, yet there will always be a need for pilots in the seats for hundreds of tasks computers can't do. The FAA won't go further with automation for at least several decades.

>majority of people involved in aviation, due to the character of constant move from place to place, living on the briefcase, simply cannot form strong bonds and relationships

Eh, this isn't all that true. Pilots spend more time at home overall than regular wagecucks. they just go on longer "shifts" due to the nature of bid periods. Most pilots fly 75-90 hours in a bid period. Putting in ground work and layovers, that's around 200-300 hours per month at work depending on the schedule (international layovers are longer than domestic ones for example). That leaves 400-500 hours for the pilot at home. Also, pilots can sign up their loved ones for buddy passes, so their loved ones can fly with them on a trip for free.

It's a long and tough career to get into, I agree, but there is a need for pilots. Not a pilot shortage like all the business news sites keep talking about, but because regionals are such shit entry jobs that no aspiring pilot wants to do, and there are less and less military pilots for airlines to pick up once their service is complete, airlines are becoming more and more competitive among themselves, like providing more benefits and guarantying hours and bid periods.
