i've had a pata atom for about 6 years now. only use it for day hikes <8 miles when i may do some trail running or scrambling. holds a 1L platypus, a couple gels/bars, keys, knife, phone. will clip a houdini to the outside if weather calls for it. not room for much else and not really comfy when it's packed full. a small daypack is a better choice for me most of the time, especially when casual hiking and dressed more everyday than athletically.
when i travel i use it as a camera bag, but never walk the streets with it. think it looks completely autistic unless using it for active reasons (hiking/climbing/biking).
if your aesthetic is crunchy/granola and you're getting one in turquoise and you basically dress the outdoor/active lifestyle full time, it'll work.
if you're a techwear enthusiast, i won't tell you how to live your life, but sure, you could pull it off.
if you wear gym clothes full time, i won't tell you how to live your life, but sure, i guess it could work.
tldr: if you dress full time crunchy or athleisure or techwear, i'm not going to tell you how to live your life, but yeah, you can probably cop/wear just fine. but there's a chance you'll look autistic. it's not much of a step up from fanny packs.
