I'm a student, which means that most of this shit stays in my backpack in its own allocated spot. I like to be prepared, and as an engineer sometimes you just gotta screw shit on or cut some packing tape and a multi tool/knife is great for that. Having a book you're reading in your backpack is very convenient (say the professor you're meeting with is 20 minutes late, so instead of fucking around on 4chins you read some lit like the intellectual ur tryna b, or you're commuting somewhere). Being that guy who has bandaids or ibuprofen with him at all times is a good guy to be.

All this is EDC because the backpack itself is an EDC. Sure, if you're in high school or you work a lame-ass desk job you're not gonna need this shit and you'll be fine with your wallet, keys and phone. Having everything I could need for a day out on my back is a really comfy feeling.

Its a medium cutting mat, i have a 4x3 drafting board hinged to my desk. I dont carry drafting pencils since Im at a stage where drafting is not a regular occurrence. Why are knives so strongly associeted with self defence? Imo they're much worse than gun or even pepper spray. If I was getting robbed I wouldn't even try pull out my knife, I'm carrying it as a tool and using it almost every day.
