I recently picked up some Nike Trainer 5.0's in green and white (the Chinese finger trap style ones) from a thrift store for a few dollars.

They're fairly dirty but look better after an initial cleaning.

They're ugly as fuck tho, so I was considering bleaching them white/trying to fade the green. They've got mesh material, neoprene, and leather parts that are green.

What would be the best way to do this? Just soak them?

In this case I think it depends on whether you feel like you need a black or a white pair of sneakers. If you have too many white sneakers I would say cop the black ones, and vice versa.

Now if that doesn't matter to you, I would say cop the white ones, I think they look better because the details are also more visible.
