Try minimalism art. You can get a metric fuckton off of Etsy for dirt cheap, or you could look into particular artists. Art can include professional photography if you want something more /fa/.
Otherwise, if you are getting posters (or prints), get them framed. It will look a bit less autistic than just having shit taped to your walls.

Get some classic movie Posters framed. The trick to posters not looking tacky is getting them framed. The frames don't have to be high quality, $15 frames from Target will do.
