'made in england' is a marketing gimmick; the leather is slightly better though not much. Build quality is the same - made in china docs are well made they just use sshite leather. Docs were ALWAYS cheaply made utilitarian boots. They last a long time for what they are - has anyone really worn out a pair, to failure? I have them but don't have inspo. I guess you could look at blundstone inspo because they're similar styles. I would avoid them and get a lace up boot instead if I were you. They look even more clunky without laces to break up the lines. I wish I got a slimmer chelsea now. I wear mine as winter beaters and they work really well for that. They're also really easy to put on.
