Alright, here's a picture that I feel more comfortable leaving around for long.

This is dry and unstyled, but I usually don't get to style my hair as I wake up too late, shower and leave with very wet hair for the office.

It usually dries into a better shape than this, but I have days where it looks awful. I'm thinking of either going for something very current or just growing it out again (I usually don't cut it for a few years).

How often should you be using shampoo if you have really thin hair? I'm cleaning it every 2/3 days but by day 2 it starts to look slightly oily and gappy at the front (resolving this with dry shampoo atm)

this is why i stopped going to barbers and started going to a "salon." sure it's a little emasculating but it's worth it. Some old Italian guy or some Latino immigrant won't know what to do with my hair because they don't understand what I'm going for or why. I could ask for any number of things but every time I'll walk out with a military style cut because that's almost all they know. But the feminine dude at the salon has a sense of aesthetics and knows what I wan't to convey with my hair. I could sit down and simply ask him to give me something nice, and trust that he will make it look good.

How can I achieve something like this?

Karl XII has a receding hairline, admittedly, but is there some way to make this work?

Basically hair swept straight back on centre, parted on both sides of the crown and swept back towards the back of the head.
It should be possible without gel styling or spray, in theory. Paintings of Karl at age 16 had straight side-parted hair, paintings from age 18 onwards have his classic 'lion's mane' style.

Nah this is the length I keep them at, everytime I go to the hairdresser I just ask to shorten and thin out everything and it kinda gives me this shapeless hairstyle

I have always had dark brown hair and had a fleeting thought to peroxide it the other day.

I have faint freckles on my nose/cheeks.
Green eyes.
Ginger facial hair (I usually keep failry clean or at least short enough to look black)
I have a pointy nose, fairly high but undefined cheek bones and a mediocre chin. As in not square not round.

I kinda look like a less handsome smaller nosed Jon Snow, hair and everything.

Im gonna cut my hair and go for the trainspotting disheveled look.

I find it difficult to get a hold of this nowadays and was wondering if you have any recommendations for a paste/putty that I can find in the UK like this.

It's the kind that you put on dry hands, rub it to get warm and apply it on dry hair. It holds well and you can re-texture as much as you like during the day but still keeping a matte soft look if it makes sense.

I posted in the last general and absolutely everyone told me to cut my hair so I did. My barber did kind of a fuckass job tho and now I'm not sure what to do about it. My hair is naturally really thick and wavy, but I have to keep it under control rather than enhance the curls.
I shampoo once a week and usually put a beanie on for an hour or so after every time I wash it with water. I use an anti-frizz serum I got for like $3 to keep it smoother.
Anyway, the beanie makes the waves more regular and angled away from my face. If I left it alone, it would all curl downwards into my eyes and up to the sides because of my ridiculous cowlick on the front of my head.

depends on your type of hair. I have thick wavy hair and most white, Latino, Asians have difficulty cutting it. My options are pretty meek so I just go someplace that washes your hair fist and I pray for the best.
