speaking for men's high waist cut jeans, I found 2 pairs of deadstock levis high waist jeans in an abandoned house; the cut looks nice and fits perfectly, but functionally they're a pain to move around in. As unfortunate as modern rise is, the function is waaaaay better

the pocket placement works so much better on modern jeans. having a wallet/iphone/keys in the high waisted cut was horrible.
