I always see this kind of jacket and thought it looked good. What's the best rendition of the olive drab parka or jacket?

Also post coats and jackets in general, I'm going somewhere very cold and far from my home in FL

I just bought this LEAF jacket.

Was 470. 20% off LEAF line.

I might return it, I can't believe I paid almost 500 for a fucking hardshell, but I got a big christmas bonus this year.

I had a really shitty jacket during the winter I spent in Chicago and just wore a sweater below it.....survived but it sucked
it can be very windy if you're by the lake, take that into consideration before buying just an MA1

I'll probably just cop a flecktarn + liner for now to bridge the gap.

I got the parka on sale from stonemenswear, brand is Ten C. I got the cheaper all Nylon version, but there's also a sturdier jersey twill version for around 1.2k.

I like that the liners are compatible with all jackets from that brand. They come in two varieties, one is simple down, the other is reinforced with shearling.

Then again, the hooded shearling liner is about 1k USD.

I was sorta kidding with that post, man; the best way to figure out what the captions say on japanese magazines is to download the pic on your phone, crop the text you want to translate, and run it through google translate
and if anything you can just copy/paste the japanese text and do a google search
Japanese sites are all but blocked from google searches since it's all indecipherable to most Americans, but you can pretty much find a price/source on any jacket

I like Carhartt hoodie jackets, but the way they fit seems to be kind of shitty, and Work In Progress really isn't much better, at least for me. Does anyone know of anything similar to pic, but higher quality? I would spend literally any amount of money, just because I'm so sick of looking for a jacket. What do you guys think of this. I just discovered b3 jackets because I don't like down jackets. Now I'm obsessed

there's a local shearling/sheepskin guy that makes a similar version of this in house at much more reasonable price than the authentic replicas.

I have a bedale with liner. I didn't wear the liner at all while walking to work last year cuz I actually broke out in a sweat lol

Just refer to the jacket size in deciding which liner to get

Marmot and Fjallraven aren't expensive
they still aren't worth the money
Canada Goose is, they didn't jack up their prices even or outsource everything just because they've had a few recent year of success....they're worth supporting imo (but I haven't bought one of their jackets yet)
haven't seen Pajar in person so I can't comment...but I've seen it mentioned in threads saying they're cheaper and warmer than Canada Goose
that patch pretty much gives the jacket its value, in all seriousness, not that there's anything wrong with that

I like this and I'm thinking of getting one, but I've never really owned one of these techy/sporty jackets and I'm unsure how often I'll be able to get away with wearing it. Is one able to really wear these when it's not raining outside? Like, if you wore this on a sunny, cold winter's day, would it look stupid? I'm actually pretty good with traditional winter outerwear, but I really want one of these, and I don't have ANY experience whatsoever with whatever weird, unnatural fabric this shell is made of. Thoughts? Suggestions? Opinions?

Is it normal for a parka (pic related in particular) to limit mobility? Obviously it's pretty thick, but it seems super stiff too. I can barely put the hood up because I can't bend my arms back enough. The fit might have something to do with it, but I don't think I should size up. I'm 6'1 and got a medium.

Not necessarily, a lot of the uniqlo stuff is pretty quality. Some of the hoodies and UUU pieces are very good.

>Canada Goose is, they didn't jack up their prices even or outsource everything just because they've had a few recent year of success....they're worth supporting imo (but I haven't bought one of their jackets yet)
>Canada Goose is worth supporting even though the brand got ruined by normie fuccbois

I don't know what to think about what you just said now
>>
>>12016357
But it didn't get ruined. It stayed the exact same
Tracksmith got ruined by normies
They used to be the only American brand that sold "athletic ivy" clothes but now they're totally sold out =(

You only fucked up by getting it in that diarrhea green color

I got the same one but in black, great quality jacket. I feel like I could be in a blizzard and not even feel it when I wear it.

Netted on the inside. more for stopping wind.
Put on a jumper underneath and you're set.

What are some of the best sub $100 jackets for winter time? And which color? I'm guessing olive, navy, and grey.
>>

This looks just up my alley! W2c this, anon?

honestly if you can pull it off you'll be good. but since you're here, and clearly not confident, you'll more likely than not look like a neckbeard

anyone have any experience with the Carhartt Detroit jacket? (arctic-quilt lined).

if so, how warm is it? is it comfy? etc.

its norse projects thor jacket. expensive af, no worth for the band quality.
>>
>>11988625
Really nice polish band. I'm surprised to see someone mencioning them here since it's full of autistic 15 yo fuckheads.
>>
>>12019958
I learned about them because a record label I really like was trying to get their music re-released
But apparently the masters are all owned by the polish government since they made the music while under communism
So there's an unbelievable amount of red tape involved with getting permission

I figured if they were trying that hard to get the music there must be a reason...very underrated band
>>
>>12017710
Depends how cold we're talking about here. And I guess for how long you're outside too.

If the coldest it gets is around 32 F, you'll be fine with a warm sweater or any number of Carhartt's hoodies. Maybe even colder than that actually.

But because of how high the jacket rides, you'll get a lot less coverage than other Carhartt coats or jackets. I'd be very careful in single digit weather.

Irregardless, that jacket is bombproof.

It's easier to put over a suit, wool slides inside satin and doesn't crease

any of you guys know of any companies making women's hoodies with full faux fur linings...girlfriend wants one for christmas and everything I'm finding the lining stops at the sleeves.
>>
>>12020617
most jackets switch the type of lining at the sleeves. my sherpa american apparel parka is like that. I think it's so can you can pull the sleeves on without bunching your long sleeve shirt or sweater up
>>
>>12020633
I totally see the logic in that, she's kind of hard to shop for and its the only thing I know that she really wants.
>>
>>12003047
is it just the shell or is the underlayer part of it

yay, nay?
is it too hype?
I want to wear it with my wool sweaters and walking boots and pretend I'm a fisherman

Got myself the wool blend parka from Uniqlo in olive and a us army M1951, love em.

Nimbus pullover?

Surely it's a different jacket
>>
>>12022022
Nvm, just looked it up. Apparently some are fleece some are netted depending where you buy it from. Don't know why but yeah.

I'm cool with netted though. Still warm as fuck cause the jacket itself is quite thick, and as I said before, you aint feeling no wind with that bitch on
