classic cut 6 drop suit
either navy,grey or charcoal

I hate the modern suit cut. It's so fucking nu-male: shoulder pads start at the neck, and end before they should, giving you the weak slumped shoulder look. The pants are always super high wasted, baggy, and short in the leg, while the jackets are tight and short with those gay as Hell pencil thin lapels making you look lanky, frail, and generally uncomfortable in your own skin, while still somehow, despite all logic or reason, maintaining the kid in his dad's suit look on even when it's fitted as well as it can be.

The jackets were longer, the lapels were a bit wider, and they didn't ball up all the padding in the neck, which is really all it takes to not look like a faggot.

Suits pretty much always look like shit. If you're forced to wear one for your job that's one thing, but you're kidding yourself if you think they look even passably decent, let alone communicate anything positive about yourself. That being said, if you're going to wear one, try to get one with a loose, comfortable fit. Blue linen is the best fabric, and the most flattering.
