Smathers and Branson, but I think that's a ribbon and cotton duck belt.
The Vineyard Vines Whale Oxford.
Unironically the best OCBD I have found. The fabric is substantial and well constructed, it has a good collar roll, and rarely wrinkles beyond a slight rumpled look. I was pleasantly shocked.
>>11976834
i actually like that oxford. Personally, I find a lot of their clothing patterns and bright colors a bit tacky, but I do own a couple of their polos and button-downs. J-crew is my go-to for most of my prep outfits.

>>11981720
you man up and wear the same in fall/winter
>>11981720
>>11981731
not if you live in the east coast. Layering is the key to being prep during the colder seasons; wearing button-down or polo under a wool or cashmere pullover sweater (yes, you can wear a polo under a pullover so long as it matches.) and to top it off, a peacoat or a bomber to keep you warm. Other coats include L.L. Bean or Brook Brothers field coat

How many people on ivy league campuses actually dress prepay?
Early decision to Cornell, legacy admission as well
>>11990491
Very few. We've discussed this in other threads but scrutiny towards Ivy League schools' admission practices combined with liberalization means that most Ivies are really not any preppier than any other school with a low admission rate (as they are reluctant to let too many in). Actual rich boarding school kids largely go to places like Georgetown or various liberal arts colleges, from what I understand, though I'd bet any decent school has a small share of the prep school set.
Congrats on Cornell, by the way!

Depends on school. I went to Dartmouth, which is on the preppier end of the spectrum, but few kids actually dressed regularly like the guy in your picture. Most students wore a mix of bean boot/outdoorsy/hiker wear with some prep sensibility. Plus, dressing super preppy everyday is just not that practical.
>>11990509
I see what you're getting at (ivies trying to be more progressive -> increased focus on underrepresented applicants -> fewer slots for rich overrepresented applicants), but the ivies are still very much hubs of wealth. I've never been to Georgetown, but I have visited a couple of the similarly selective liberal arts schools in NE, and their students are no more prep than Dartmouth's (usually even less so).

Wrong, this is sad and low tier if real but mostly just the fantasy of jealous povs
The real case is either *) It's the help's job to get the grass stains out and anyway if they can't you can just buy new pants because your dad loves you and neither of you could possibly blow through the family money buying pants anyway, and he was the one who taught you how to dress, he wants you to be happy and look sharp, or *) your dad would get a bit pissed ate the waste but still doesn't want you to look like a hippie and only cares for the principle of the thing anyhow, it's bad to trick old Dad that way but you gotta have those new pants.
The first one is top prep old money style, the second is more like new/semi new money stockbroker's kid but went to the right schools style.
