Holy shit, some of that line work is really bad.
For the most part it is alright, but the swords are so wonky that it takes away from any of the good line work going on.

The problem with this line-heavy, lifted from a wood engraving, style is that it all has to be on point otherwise the whole thing falls apart easily.
tl;dr A bad line, next to a good line, makes the bad line look terrible.

First: find an artist known for this style, don't just run down to the joint and catch whoevers availible
It would get less sharp over a long time for sure; small dots blend together, fine lines meld. That's why a lot of people don't like the fine detailed type tattoos. That being said, I haven't seen a tattoo like this aged a while so we can't know for sure how it'll look down the road, maybe it'll get good

All black with shades of grey looks good tho, just don't pick something too stupidly trendy. if you can find a good artist do it
