2. Layering product to achieve height requires damp hair to distribute the first product then blow dry to style and lastly a quick shot of the dryer again to finish and set the second product.

Huh? No they don't? AFAIK they just blow dry their damp hair (for volume) then styles the voluminous mess made with the blowdryer.
