After trying to fight it for so long, I've come to accept that the colours I feel most comfortable in are grey and black.
I want to convert my wardrobe over time into a mostly-monochromatic one. Any advice/inspo? I am 5'11" grill trying to slim down from 70kg to ~60.

Resist the urge to toss your whole wardrobe right away. Start collecting solid basics (black and blue jeans, white, grey, and black tops, black and grey outerwear) and do your best to make your current wardrobe work until you have enough mono fits.
what's yr budget?

It fluctuates but am poorfag until the new year. Do you mean per piece?
I'm with you OP.
It's not that I don't enjoy seeing pearing colours in a decent way, I just enjoy mono/drab more on myself, and as you say, feel more comfortable.
As >>11934550 says don't bin your current stuff yet.
It's a common thought that basics should be cheap. IMO, this is wrong. If you're wearing a plain black T that's bottom of the barrel quality it will show, that said you don't need an MMM T shirt (unless budget allows, then go wild).
In short:
- good quality basics
- don't overspend on until you find a style that suits your body
- don't buy statement pieces until you get the fundamentals right
- the simpler a garment is, the more you should look into quality
