Can we have a thread about proper hair care, styling, and cleaning?
I need some help. I think I may have become allergic to the shampoo I'm using now. My barber says I don't have dandruff but whenever I scratch it, flakes fall out, especially if I've shampooed it recently. I used the shampoo again the other day and it actually felt like it was burning my scalp.
What do? Is no poo the only way? I have really curly hair, wish it looked like pic related but it's close sometimes

sounds like you have dry scalp or psoriasis rather than dandruff my dude
I had something similar, went to doctor, took some medicine cream, am okay now.

Are those the same thing? I think it could be dry scalp, but apparently psoriasis is hereditary so I don't think it's that (assuming they're different things.) Thanks.

Were they a regular doc or a dermatologist?

cool, I've been thinking about making up a thread like this for a while.
For all you effay anons with nice hair, how do you care for it?
I have long hair and only wash it about 2 times a week (I also use a cheap conditioner) and my hair is either really dry or oily near the scalp.
For refference, my hair is really thin and I have lots of it.
How to obtain healthy-looking hair?

They are not the same thing, and you can't use the same stuff (ie head and shoulders will prpbably not work for you)

>They are not the same thing
Probably dry scalp, then, because I don't think any of my family members have ever had psoriasis. I also don't have the scales (that I can see, anyway).
Figures -- I use a shampoo for "oily" hair. I guess I should probably just ditch that. You don't happen to know what kind of products I ought to use instead, and what I should treat the dryness with in the meantime, do you?
