I have some balding on my temples, is it worth it? would i have to take it for the rest of my life?
>>
>>11867585
>is it worth it
subjective
>would I have to stay on it
yes
>>
I take it. I don't see much regrowth, but I deff stopped losing hair. Wish I had gotten on it earlier, since I have a deep widows peak now.
And yeah, you need to take it forever, or until there is another way of suppressing that hormone(qht?) that is linked to hair loss.

You can also double up with minoxidil. It's maybe ~20% as effective, but it also boosts the regrowth time, so it gives you a better idea of what, if anything, will regrow.(keep in mind you can't make any call on the effectiveness until you're 9+ months into the treatment. And you will lose hair faster once you start the treatment, for the first few months)

I started thinning in the front but now I just ride it out until it gets way to obvious. I'm soon 30 tho so I dont really care anymore. If you're ~20 I feel you. Just read up on the risks. I have no intrest in growing tits and fucking my dick up. Beard is shaping up too so I'm going ragnar core.
>>
>>11867585
no medicine will fix balding. only hair transplant treatment
>>
>>11867750
its just slight temples right now so im not too worried, im 24. yea if i ever lose it full costanza im going ragnar core too. fuck only having hair on the sides thats embarassing
>>
>>11867585
ideally you want to use finasteride and minoxidil together. since only your temples are slightly receded, you have time to evaluate it and talk to a doctor

you need to keep using these products indefinitely, or until transplants of cloned hair become a thing
>>
>>11867761
After which you have to take finasteride to prevent the hair behind the transplanted hair from thinning.
>>
Came close to it. Realized I was thinning pretty badly 5 years ago, weighed my options, after heavy consideration I concluded that even a 1% chance of my dick not working was too high for me to risk.

If/when hair cloning becomes a thing in the future I'll probably spring for it, but as of now I'm fine just coasting along. Funny thing is, I'm an actor and the number of parts I've been offered actually increased noticeably since I started buzzing/shaving my head.
>>
I use it with minoxidil daily. My hair has made almost a full recover from having recessed temples and a bald spot on the crowm.

>tfw you get your teenage hairline back and will probably have it for a long time :)
>>
>>11868066
can you find it on regular drug store shelves? and have you felt any side effects?
>>
>>11868070
finasteride requires a prescription in every developed country I can think of I think. minoxidil can be purchased off the shelf
>>
>>11867585
i cant imagine taking shit that potentially fucks up your dick, sex drive, gives you gyno etc just because of some hair loss
>>
Who gives a fuck that you have to keep taking it? It's one pill a day. Totally worth it. About 2% of men get sides, but they go away if you stop taking it. No harm in trying.
>>
I've been on Finasteride for going on 10 months. My hair has thickened up a bit and my hair loss has def stopped/slow down dramatically. Adding in minoxidil foam on my temples a month back to thicken them up a bit. No sides. Don't read into the fear mongers here. Believe it or not most people don't look good bald.
>>
I've been using it once every 2-3 days for the past couple of years

It has slowed my hairloss down but its still advancing a bit.

I kind of want to stop taking it because i've experimented with taking long breaks of 2+ weeks, and its amazing how GOOD i feel when i stop taking it. Lowering your DHT simply takes something out of you as a man both mentally and physically and i think i'd just rather be bald
>>
>>11868516
Its another thing to pay for and have to pick up regularly. I dont care about actually having to pop it ofcourse. I also worry about side effects
>>
>>11868521
Shitty thing about that is, once you get results from that, and you inevitably get annoyed doing the treatments... Estimating how much you'll lose if you quit the inbox is hard/scary.

Both treatments cost the same for me, and I know inbox is less effective AND more annoying to use... But iv been on both for 2.5 years and I think I'm okay with gently going into it now(I'm 30. Still single tho) but I'm nervous dropping the minox. I'm trying to ween off it, only applying .7ml a day(2 bottles left. Will drop to .4 on my last one)

Kinda feel like I'm already noticing thinning, even though the actual effectiveness of the drug cocktail should be negligible(only 20% is from minox, so I'm still getting 94% treatment)
>>
w2c minoxidil online shipped to nz?
it doesnt seem like they sell it on iherb
>>
>>11867750
I am actually ripped as fuck since going on this 2 years ago with minimal exercise (2 times a week gym, 3 times a week walking). I think it might be from more free test that doesnt get converted to the DHT. I get hard as a rock and make big cums still too. So those side effects don't happen to everyone.
>>
my friend takes that. poor nigga is balding already
>>
>>11867585
I wouldn't take it, but then I value my dick more than my hair.

minoxidil is safe though.
>>
>>11868674
fellow nzbro here looking into this shit here, there are some real cheap minoxidil generics on ebay
>>
>>11868070
no you need a prescription for fin. a bit of lowered libido but I'm actually pretty sure its my antidepressant, since I went off it for a couple days and got super horny. Totally worth it.
>>
>>11868804
If it starts to give you ED you can just...stop take it. Its not like its permanent
>>
>>11868953
although it seems to be rare, permanent sides may occur. there are a shit-ton of studies about it but it doesnt chance much so i advice either taking it and not giving a fuck or not taking it and not giving a fuck
>>
>>11868904
thanks bud
>>
Been on Fin for about 9 months, have made hair gains beyond initial expectations and no sides besides some watery semen in the beginning.
>>
>>11867761
Hair transplant without Fin is a bad fucking idea.

>talk to the doctor, says it's a body's reaction to the physical trauma and it is temporary
>months later, hair still falling
>hair is really noticably thinning, i can see the skin in the mirror
>no balding issues in my family iirc
someone had to be first i guess. i'm 27 now and if the hair loss will continue at this rate, i'll be shaving bald in my thirties, perhaps even sooner.
>>
ive been receding since 16 and im a norwood 2 at 20 now, no thinning at all and decided to start treatment in the hope to regrow a bit of my hairline.

Starting with minox, scalp rolling and nizoral and if I get no results in the next 9 months I'll add fin in too.

Yes balding sucks but I've won the genetic lottery on everything else so at least I know I'll still look good if I lose all of it.
>>
I just started taking it Tuesday. Penis still gets hard to femboy porn. Life is good.
>>
>>11869433
>100% chance of never getting to use it again if you don't

its not like you have any chance with hair anon
>>
Been on it 6 months. Zero sides and already seeing slight regrowth. One of the best decisions I've ever made while still in my 20's (27).
>>
>>11871275
Full results by 18 months.
>>
Some people get sides because they're fucking scared of them and in the end their bodies react to their mental stress. Nocebo effect is a thing, and studies on this very drug prove it.

Taking it for 3 years works well

i'm a trannyfag and i take it. helped a lot with thinning in my temples. was mostly reversible hairloss from smoking, not genetic tho.
>>
I took this shit last year. Stopped last December.
My sex drive is still fucked. My cum is still watery. When I do fap or have sex it's at least a week before I even want to think about sex again. There are a lot of stories like mine.
And, no, it didn't really help with my balding.

Not saying it will happen to you you, but you're taking a risk if you take it.

Hairloss is always genetic unless its traction alopecia. (pulling hair too tight too often)

Diet, lifestyle etc does not affect it. I've seen so many disgustingly fat people with perfect hairlines and super thick hair. Drug addicts too.
>>
What about those stem cell transplant methods coming around 2020, are they a permanent solution ?
>>
>>11872906
arent the trials that begin by that time? i dont know anon, very long way until commercial use begin in most countries
accepting is the bst thing you can do if you wanna live your life
>>
>>11872912

I just checked and they talk about treatments being available in 2018 and 2020 depending on the companies.
http://www.natureworldnews.com/articles/25234/20160714/cure-baldness-japanese-firms-end-hair-loss-problems-2020.htm
And I'm not stressing about it, I'm not even bald yet. But we were born in time to see a cure for baldness, might as well enjoy it.
>>
>>11872924
there is a graph on hairlosstalk about the coming/possible treatments
i remember reading somewhere that 2020 is very optimistic and most likely not true. i dont know though, i dont browse tressless and shit like that anymore, its a waste of time
>>
I'm 20 and my temples are receding... Fuck.
>>
>>11872924
i cant believe no one has developed a solid cure yet. thats probably ignorant to say because i have no idea about the science behind it but it just seems weird with how advanced in medicine we are these days. I think rogaines paying off researches or something or killing them. Maybe i just have balding induced paranoia
>>
>>11873189
in general there is no real cure for genetic disases
>>
>>11873414
i guess i didnt mean cure i meant treatment. They say "hair cloning" is the best option but its still in early research
>>
How trust worthy is https://young-vs-old.com?
Anyone got experience with them?
>>
>take fin for over 2 years now
>no side effects
>in fact no effects at all
>still shedding
welp

>>11873462
The prices are ridiculous. Why would you want to order drugs from China through customs, when you could just go to your doctor of choice and get fin for less than half the price by tomorrow?
>>
>>11867585
Only slows the process. Nothing will stop it
In the end, nature will win anyhow
>>
>>11867761
how much does a hair transplant generally cost? I know it depends on how much hair you have lost, but if i only have an ich or so of receding and just want to fill in temples is it going to be thousands of dollars?
>>
>>11874047
i read somewhere it can be anywhere from 3 grand to 20 grand per visit
>>
>>11873598
take a bigger dose

Take a look at pic related. In short it will stop your hair from thinning but it wont grow it back. If you stop taking it your hair will go back to falling out.

The whole it fucking your dick up is mainly a combination of a placebo effect and the fact that guys in their late 50s who were tested on it experianced ED however it was demonstrated that that was due to their age not the drug
>>
>>11876018
Whether it grows back or not has got much to do with how many miniaturized hairs you've got, and how much damage DHT has done the your follicles. Some hairs might go from vellus to terminal, some might not. Slick bald areas are pretty much doomed.
>>
>>11876018
I've read that men under 30 with recent hair loss (2 to 4 years) respond the best to Finasteride in terms of regrowth. I also think it's quite established fact that diffuse thinners have a better chance of regrowing than those with conventional recession. Some Japanese doctors also conducted a study which concluded that the hairier men responded the best to the drug.

So in theory you're a prime candidate if you're:

>Under 30 with 2 to 4 years of hair loss
>Thinning diffusely
>Hairy as a gorilla
>>
Thinking about going to my general practitioner (or whatever your family doctor you go for minor shit is called in english) and try to force her to prescribe me finasteride. Loss has apparently stopped in the last 2 years (started at like 20, I'm 25 now), but I don't want to take risks and regret it later. Meme sides don't scare me, and I'll actually be way more depressed and everything knowing my hair might recede more and I'm not doing anything about it.
>>
Why does nobody ever talk about low level laser therapy for hair loss?

Been getting it done twice a week for months now and it has worked insanely well. My hair went from shit to the best it's ever been and most people say they don't see peak results until they've been doing this for a full year. So my hair will likely continue to get better.

If you're unfamiliar with this DEFINITELY look into. 0 side effect method to keeping your hair.
>>
>>11867585
Its worked for me. So it might work for you.
>>
>>11876816
It's bogus. The only thing that will stop hair loss and possibly regrow hair is Fin. Minox is optional.

Nuke DHT or death.
>>
>>11876886
I can assure you it's not. Everyone I know who has tried it has gotten great results. It doesn't work well if you're balding hard, but if you still have a lot of hair and you're starting to thin it will work wonders.
>>
been on it for three years

i'm around baseline, but below where i was after 1 year. (which is interesting, i suspect minoxidil's impact has wavered moreso than fin, which i also use)

without it i would pretty much bald as my hairloss is very aggressive, but the other day someone basically said they didn't even notice i was balding so yeah it's definitely worth it
>>
>>11876945
>below where i was after 1 year

so you're basically still losing hair?

no sides in 3 years?
>>
>>11877009
>so you're basically still losing hair
no, didnt say that, i wouldn't say I've lost any hair in the last 6 months, honestly. i'm just below where i was after a year. first year i had very, very good results and i've simply lost those good results i suppose, i wager because minoxidil's impermanent, superficial growth stimulant effect has worn off. the problem is more that my hair doesnt grow as quickly and as long as it did at the 1 year point, but the hairs themselves are still about as thick.i have not 'receded' at all in 3 years.

and no
