I think a Bambino or Seiko 5 w/ nato strap would be ones to consider. I like em

at that price range only the internet top brands are to be considered buying, but you might as well quartz it up.

i know nothing about watches
what would be the ideal automatic watch to buy with the best price/quality relationship? i do have money, and if its neccessary im willing to spend up to a few grand, but im kinda looking for a not-so-pricey solution. something that will last long for the best price.

>I do have money
Just get a stainless steel submariner ffs
The design is iconic and versatile and they are built to last
They're only ~$8k anyway so 1-2 seasons worth of full Rick

omega man on the moon
rolex datejust
most versatile imo

Hi, I'm the person you replied to.
I guess at a certain point the price of a watch does not mean it will last longer. I think for that reason anything above 5k is not going to be better, in terms of liftime, than 1k-5k watches. (I realise this is a wide margin but many watches in that range are of the highest quality). It then depends on what you look for in terms of looks.
That said, you need to spend SOME money to reach the quality you desire.
I'd say watches like grand seikos (GS line) are the prime of quality, for which you pay the price.
If you were to get an orient (owned by seiko) for example (sub $500), this would not be the best bang for buck.
But other north-German bauhaus brands like nomos, stowa, really have made a name for themselves.
For a bit extra Omega Speedmasters come into the picture (~3-4k)
Tudor has Rolex build, so extremely sturdy.
Jaeger-LeCoultre Master Ultra thin also comes to the table at this price (4k), used!
that's all I can think of for now famalaman

thanks all of you
i will be checking these out for sure

current rolex 36mm datejust in stainless steel is gorgeous and it has a real history
other suggestions would be a panerai 372 (i heard they have high maintenance costs but not sure) ;
an IWC pilot mark xviii is a great watch and subtle also very robust.
i would also look into Zenith , imo they are extremely underrated and very reasonably priced for what they offer. The El primero Chronomaster Open is a personal favorite

In dressy -> casual order: Datejust 116200 Milgauss or Explorer II 16570. Submariner also if you don't mind wearing a watch that's cool but worn by every other fucker out there.

Good for you anon, Seiko sarb/sargs are the proof that a decent watch can be bought if you do your research and it doesn't have to be unaffordable for the vast majority.
