It's a really cool watch with an interesting story behind. I'm selling mine because it doesn't get any wrist time and I think I should start to invest my money in other stuff than Soviet watches.

You can get beat up ones for like 50€ if you are interested, but most they will be most probably "Cдeлaнo в Poccии" instead of "Cдeлaнo в CCPP" which decreases the value.
And make sure it's got the original 24h movement which is the 2623H (pic related)
There are many frankens around which use a modded 2609 movement.

Sorry, I didn't read your post, just look on eBay for Raketa 2609, there are a lot of styles but this one made in the USSR doesn't pop out really frequently. It's a really cool dress watch, incredibly thin mechanical movement and case. It's also accurate as fuck.

It's just the screen or glass, that's a huge turnoff. Is there anyway to restore them or perhaps change them so they look fresh and can be worn outdoors?

Both are beautiful, a bit too expensive though, you could get them for 50$ in a better shape.
The first one is like mine but I don't like the kind of "ribbed" bezel. The lack of movement pics is suspicious.
The second one looks very classy, not my style but I like it and the movement is in a perfect shape. The price is quite high tho. Go for it if you love it m8.

In the case of Soviet/Russian watches you shouldn't really be scared of the scars on the glas, since it's always gonna be acrylic glas and you can polish it easily rubbing tooth paste on it with piece of cotton cloth. Just mind the scratches of the case.
