Be honest how bad does my haircut look? Should I just buzz everything

Last time I ever go to the barbershop with my mom. I'd come home to visit them over the weekend and it been a while since my last haircut. My mom was overreacting and saying I looked like a girl, I don't really care that much about my hair, but it was getting kind of shaggy so I agreed to get it cut. I was gonna just get my top trimmed a little and my sides and back cut a lot shorter. Apparently while I wasn't listening she told the barber no sideburns. Now for some reason she's angry with me for being angry with her about this.

Yeah i'd shave it. Its alright besides the fact that the barber shaved your sideburns above your ears. That would look bad on anyone.

Fuck. I just grew back from the buzz cut I had over the summer. I look better with long hair, my head shape isn't really the best for a buzz. Is there any way I could get a fade or something on my sides and have it look decent? I usually go for functionality over style, but I just got into this relationship with this girl I've been chasing all year and I'm really worried this might scare her away, which I don't want until I at least get in her pants. Also I got called a nazi a lot when I did have the buzz which was pretty annoying.

yeah you could try shaving the sides right down and fade it to the top. If you arent happy with that you can just shave your head

Sideburns don't really need to be as long as the rest of your hair do they? After this next week I have spring break, which I'll be spending at my family's beach house where I'm pretty much just gonna be smoking weed with my friends for a week. After 2 weeks would I have an acceptable length of sideburns where I wouldn't need to where a hat? Also do I look fine in a hat?

you should report this barber to the BBB because no self respecting hair cutter will cut your sideburns like that unless you specifically ask them too. it makes your hair look like a wig

Generally this barbershop is pretty good with their hair cuts, and my mom was the one who paid for it, so I don't really think it's the barbers fault. I'm much angrier at my mom,

I've never done that before, but I guess desperate times call for desperate measures. Are you sure I shouldn't trim my top at all so it grows more evenly back in? Also would I need to use gel to keep top combed over ok? I've never used gel before is there anywhere i can learn what brands to use, him much to put on, and how to comb it in?

I get it like this, hell i think even longer on top. I dont use gel. And yeah my sides and top grow at different rates now. I got it slightly shorter last time and im waiting for it to grow out more to get it how i like it. I doubt you'll need gel.
