Most people do not give a fuck about you. Maybe your mom, maybe your girlfriend, but that's about it. They will notice your clothing but it won't register but for about two seconds. Same with what you do, how you speak, etc. That's why it's so silly to see kids obviously dressed up when walking around in populated downtown areas: it's begging for attention that virtually no-one is giving.

That's not saying that you can't make them give a fuck, of course.

Yeah, I mean, I haven't got any answers to offer you, I just about get by by meeting deadlines. But still - I just got a job the other week in a city I want to live in, despite being terrified of any application process, putting it off for months and months, having no idea really what I want to do, etc.
