Simple tip from someone who was super fat and is slowly getting smaller. In fact this applies to everyone of every body type:

If it can, make it bend. Cocking your head, bending an elbow. Leaning to one side, staggering feet. raising an arm.

All these things help with the illusion and are the keys to being photogenic. Problem is if you still have crappy skin. RIP me
