What's the most versatile color for sneakers outside of white?
Black/navy. And I suppose dark grey too.

What about brown and tan?
grey is probably as versatile as black. Maroon is just below them

So if I get some grey sneakers I should be able to wear pretty much anything with em?
Dark blue and black, I think.

uh, less so I'd say. Don't get me wrong, they go with a lot but you are kind of constraining yourself to a certain colour scheme

So should I build a nice wardrobe before buying shoes? Maybe I could try with some different colored, cheap, sneakers and then see what fits best and buy some more high end ones?
I litteraly have one pair of black caterpillar workboots

They're a bit more of a compromise than black but you can wear them with almost any pants besides gray itself. Alot of sneakers have nice gray colorways like Tubular X, ultraboost, cuckverse 2 vans and so on

Black are verastile? Honestly, what can you wear with full black CPs? Like nothing. Probably full black or very dark toned monochrome stuff with black jeans, but nothing more.
>mfw someone gets a pair of non-white Achilles just because they're on sale

navy

Honestly I'd say white sneakers aren't as versatile as you think. You can wear them with a decent amount of things, but not as much as black.

white andblack sneakers are hard to wear. navy and tan are the most versatile
