Not really, if you buy the thing that you actually like instead of something similar that you don't quite like as much, then you will definitely wear it and use it a lot more and hopefully take care of it better, plus is will be miles better quality than cheaper stuff
Most people have gotten into the process of just buying too many clothes that they don't need and as a result throw them out in 6 months time later, its better to have one thing you like a lot then a bunch of things you don't like as much
