I'm sick and tired of the pleb watch threads here, where the ugliest watches are posted. So I decided to make my own. (Bear with me, I'm dumping slowly)

1. Junghans - Max Bill Automatic
>>
2. Nomos Glashütte - Lambda
This one is really expensive: 15200€
>>
>>10949972
who the fuck would pay 15k for a Nomos, they make solid watches and all but ehh I'd rather get something else for that kind of money

3. Braun BN0021BKBKG
This one is more affordable: 135€

>>10949973
I'm not saying you should buy it, this thread is for displaying nice watches instead of the 5 Dollar crap that gets posted here all the time.

4. Rado - Ceramica
I'm not the biggest fan of Rado, but they have some nice stuff. They were really popular with German bankers in the 80s, I've been told.

They have a lot of variations on this one, most of them are good http://junkers-uhren.de/category/junkers-uhrenserien/junkers-bauhaus/
>>
7. Skagen - Ancher
Skagen has a good variety of watches like this, most of them below 200€

They didn't finish decorating it so that you can remember every time you look at it that you were supposed to spend the extra cash to get an Omega. Every Swatch brand has it's own very carefully designed niche and any Longines must be carefully shitted up in some minor way to make it inferior to Omega and every Hamilton must be slightly shittier than a Longines and so on down the line.

I was wondering if someone might be able to help me.

I have a watch with a metal band with security clasp. I want to replace the actual band with leather, but keep the security clasp.

Does anyone know any retailers that sell leather bands to replace a metal one?

These are the only two watches I own. Belonged to my grandfathers on each side of the family. Bulova Accutron and the other is "Hollywood Polo" which I've never heard of. I need to get both repaired, cleaned, and resized, but other than that what do you think?

Also, w2c nice watches that won't break the bank. I stumbled across http://vodrich.com/collections/timepieces but I don't know how the quality is on these.
>>
>>10967726
I would wear the one on the left every goddamn day till I died.
>>
not a fashio question but

i bought a watch with an ETA 2804-2 movement and it's gaining about a minute a day
i have an old shitty seiko 5 with a malaysian 7S26C that keeps better time
is this an issue with ETA movement in general or do you think i just got a bad one, i can still exchange it and i dont see the point in getting a new watch serviced
>>
>>10967743
That's pretty much exactly what my grandpa did. I just want it cleaned and working again. It's loose on my wrist, but not if I push it up a teeny bit (1-2 inches).
>>
>>10968175
Well you should be able to resize a bracelet yourself, it doesn't take a professional. That style of bracelet is called a Speidel or a Twist-o-Flex. It's a really old man style though, I'd suggest putting the watch on a nice new leather strap or something. It's a very cool watch though, accutrons are awesome. Definitely get it properly serviced and take care of it and wear the shit out of it.
>>
>>10968460
I've thought about it, but when my grandpa died I remember my mom giving me the watch and telling me how part of what she remembered so fondly about it was the bracelet. So there is a degree of sentimental value. I'd have to see what it looks like with a leather band. But I'll definitely try adjusting it on my own, I didn't think I could. Thanks anon.
>>
>>10967726
That Bulova has priority. You better wear it, it's damn good.
>>
>>10968478
Be careful though. Watchmaker-fag reporting in. Twix-o-Flex wrist bands is an absolute bitch to adjust if you don't have the right tools. I'd suggest looking at a YouTube video on how to do it first or make your local jewler do it.

>>
>>10961185
Damasko steel is better since it's not just a coating like sinn's which can crack. It's retarded.
If sinn then there lower tier untreated steel models.
Tegimented isn't as good as damasko's ice-hardening.

Too bad sinn designs are better.
>>
>>10962078
You probably won't be able to keep that particular clasp, but there are things called deployant claps that replace buckles on leather straps.
Usually on leather straps that come with higher end watches, the deployant clap helps to reduce wear on the strap (you'd want a nice crocodile strap to last a long time, and buckles cause more wear).

Again, I don't agree with the idiot bashing everyone for how they wear their watch, but the general rule has always been like how JFK is wearing it in that photo.

The guy who started this all doesn't even wear it correctly. Only one single person >>10973598 has posted the most accurate "rule".

What insult? What are you talking about?

I didn't post the "samefag" post. It was pretty fucking obvious that it was a shitpost, yet you felt you had to prove it wrong with a screen grab?

What the hell is wrong with you?

No one is getting mad, other than you. And where is this 'insult' I resorted to that offended you?

I wear my watch on my ankle, goes with my sneakers

This thread is literal fucking cancer. People should wear their watch in what ever is comfortable. The idea that there are rules, or guidelines one most abide by is out right retarded and shows how utterly shit /fa/ has become with manchildren trying to assert their way of dress is the right way and demand others follow suit.

You're not a style icon. You will never be inspiring, or followed.

Hey I like Squale too but it is so hyped by TGV. Recent Squale's quality control is shady.

>try to wear watch above wrist bone
>wrist is thinner below the bone

I couldn't be hip even when I tried.

Use a milanese steel band, nato, zulu or perlon strap.

Given it's elton john, I'd say it's a Chopard watch.
Maybe it's this one.
