Well you should be able to resize a bracelet yourself, it doesn't take a professional. That style of bracelet is called a Speidel or a Twist-o-Flex. It's a really old man style though, I'd suggest putting the watch on a nice new leather strap or something. It's a very cool watch though, accutrons are awesome. Definitely get it properly serviced and take care of it and wear the shit out of it.

I've thought about it, but when my grandpa died I remember my mom giving me the watch and telling me how part of what she remembered so fondly about it was the bracelet. Be careful though. Watchmaker-fag reporting in. Twix-o-Flex wrist bands is an absolute bitch to adjust if you don't have the right tools. I'd suggest looking at a YouTube video on how to do it first or make your local jewler do it.

If sinn then there lower tier untreated steel models.
Tegimented isn't as good as damasko's ice-hardening.

You probably won't be able to keep that particular clasp, but there are things called deployant claps that replace buckles on leather straps.
Usually on leather straps that come with higher end watches, the deployant clap helps to reduce wear on the strap (you'd want a nice crocodile strap to last a long time, and buckles cause more wear).
