construction also matters. look at the stitch density and cleanness, usually those are two good indicators of quality construction.

hi lad. im going to make a counter argument here, and say that more important than the material itself, is the quality of that particular material. despite what you might think, not all cotton is equal. not all cashmere sweatersare of the same calibur, obviously. by that same token, not all rayon and polyester is of the same quality. i do prefer all cotton jeans, however, there are some spandex/polyster/cotton/tencel blend jeans in the 300 dollar range that are vastly superior to , say, some old navy 100% cottonj eans. thats the point im trying to make.
