Tough. In a way, my Plinth Geos fit both a and b. I realized that I never was going to wear them at a certain point, but I did have some fond memories of wearing those when I first got them. I'll probably never buy another pair of Geos to wear, but I'm sad that I sold a pair of shoes that I did want so bad at some point and then eventually bought once I doubled my income. It was a very formative time of my life that they represented to me. The fact is I didn't wear them, but I sold them for enough to buy my guidis which I will wear until they are dust. I'm ultimately glad I bought them and sold them for the geos - parts of a path you know - but at the time they were sitting unworn in my closet for a year they were huge regrets.

A little more objectively:

I actually really like the classic or "fuccboi" geobaskets. They're what drew me into Rick, and sort of the reason I'm as rick'd out as I am these days. So I still wear mine a lot. If I ever get a second pair though, it'll be solid white deerskin.

I have sneakers that are basically adidas rip-offs of chucks which I could see working, also just white hi tops I think would work with them.
I feel like the idea of Rick cargos only work with rick footwear is too cemented on peoples heads, of course they look amazing together but the cargos can work on their own with shoes that don't stand out as much as Ricks footwear does.

Hey guys. Just got my first pair geobaskets and I'm really excited. Wanted a pair forever. Now I've got some in the mail. They're the pearl colorway which is a really beautiful color to me. I'm not sure they've ever actually had Rick sneaks, judging by "sneakers are just sneakers" cuz otherwise:

Shoes are pretty crucial to the Rick look, and one of the better investment pieces he makes - they'll hold up for years. They're also the best to start with, as Geos/Ramones can be worn easily with slim black jeans and baggier shirts. In contrast, a full rick fit with regular sneakers (AF1/converse/whatever) will look wildly out of proportion in *most* scenarios. Next I'd say get a pair of pants or shorts (Pods are the most versatile + Best for a classic Rick vibe). Any Longer/baggier shirts will do, but Eventually you should build up a stock of a few of his drapey tees for layering. If you can't afford a Rick Jacket yet, get a slim black bomber from anywhere to hold you over until you make that leap.

I find it weird that there seems to be a consensus in these threads that Rick denim is worth it. It is, and always has been shit and there are lots more options for less. Look into Julius (esp. knit denims) or Boris for good jeans. For slightly above budget, check out Acne and APC. For budget, check out H&M, they make great jeans, if you don't care about ethics (regarding childworkers).

No pair of shoes will remain pristine after 4 years. However, Leather has the potential to last ages (8+ year old dunks still out there) if you treat it well, and will last through any amount of physical effort etc. They're definitely the best made shoes I've ever had, and have taken much heavier beatings than anything save my work boots and shown no signs of giving in. After about 4 years, depending on how hard you wear them, you may have put a new layer on the sole.

Rick owens soles are not as good as these. They aren't made out of one solid piece of rubber but they have a ribbed bottom and a thin sole. the inside of the sole is hollowed out so they will have to be replaced after maybe a year of wear if not earlier. This was my experience with Geobaskets

As much as I love the soft, broken in look of my geobaskets - every time I look at a picture of new ones I get nostalgic for when they were brand new and held that perfect silhouette so well. I keep getting the itch to buy a new pair just to feel that again.

What's the sizing like on level tees? I'm 180cm and skinny, will an XS fit nicely? Also is USD170 a decent price for a brand new shirt?

xs should be fine, for future reference, measurements are a better size indicator than 'skinny'.
also 170 is like retail for a shirt, look for sales for a better deal.
normal level shirts arent hard to come by so id reccomend you hold out for a better price. look >100 for the average tshirt, ive gotten a few from retail under 70 so keep an eye out

I'm 182-185 (I was measure last time when I was a teenager dunno how tall I am exactly) and honestly M is the most comfortable for me in Rick tops, pretty skinny as well.
I'd say go for S, I can rock S stuff as well but M just feels better.

I usually wear M in tops but the S fits me. It's supposed to hug your body a bit so you get the effect.
I have a 'regular' rick tee in M and both fit me. The sleeves on the double layer are really short though but that looks like it's part of the design.

I like these alot, they remind me alot of other leather products from people like BBS, Poell, and Guidi. I never really like the bright leathers from them but they are honestly really nice when pulled off well. I think the chrome is the best looking "weird" geo color. Works really well in pale/spacey fits. Really easy to fuck up though, and not very good for a traditional Rick aesthetic.

I really fucked with SLP from the time Hedi became the creative director to about F/W 2014

Too many rehashes of the same shit from previous seasons, too many basic ass over priced pieces with only decent quality. His women's collection is even worse when it comes to this.

I like Hedi as a designer, I really do. But there are only so many times you can put out "ripped jeans, leather jackets, chelsea boots, and maybe those h10s if ur a hypebeast" before it gets old.

I understand you can only go so far with the whole "rock and roll" aesthetic but I feel like he's just half assing his collections and counting his money until he's out of the YSL camp. Pieces like the bikers (you know the ones I'm talking about) showcased how you can still be creative while fitting into that look. And he hasn't made a piece that's had that effect on me in a few seasons now.
