Hmm, good question. I like the socks because they're much sleeker than the regular lowtop Rickdidas. But they still have the same Vicious sole. I find the bulbous split sole very different from other shoes and very interesting visually.

If you're a true 30 I would go with a small. I'm a true 29 and the XS is just a little tighter in the calves than I'd like, and the crotch area is not quite wide enough for my stride so if you're tall like me I would recommend a small.

Should I pick these up? I really want a pair of pull on boots, but until they finally get reissued in new season, I'm thinking I should settle for these. And they'd look nice styled with just adidas track pants rather than always wearing out my prisoners.

Ive only recently started looking into preowned rick owens stuff, but was wondering how it is to find a intarsia mid collar in L from pre 2012? I almost bought a size S (measured larger apparently) from F/W Crust that was a mid collar similar to intarsia.

Picked up these Mega Hoofbaskets yesterday for an insane price (<$300AU). I'm finding that it's best to wear them with simple clothing such as jeans / Prisoners and an extra long top - as anything too complex clashes with them. They work best when they are the stand-out piece rather than part of a more technical fit.

Any other advice / wisdom / tips I should consider with them?

I had to try and explain women strapped to women runway show to people tonight because it appeared on their facebook feed.

So "sock runner" is the officially name for these. Go TTS or a half size down, depending on the width of your feet. Not as easy to pull off without a Rick wardrobe as some other pieces (e.g. Ramones) but can work pretty well with any right black jeans/joggers and drapey t shirts.

if you think they're cool but you're not totally sure if they're for you, buy a pair secondhand. that way if you get tired of them you can do what i do and get your money back by selling them for what you paid to some rando on grailed. (i would be cautious doing this because there are a lot of fake black and white geos out there)

if you just want rick shoes to go with rick-heavy fits, you can find much cheaper and frankly cooler options than geos. all sorts of rick boots regularly sell in deadstock condition on ebay for as low as 300 usd even in the most expensive sizes.
