Didn't see one in the catalog so here we go

Hopefully wise anons can drop some nfo for the unaware folk

Anyone know if a good way to lighten lips if they've gotten darker from smoking?
>>
>>10849039
Dont fucking smoke. Use lip balm maybe.

Posting my routine here. I've had great improvements on my skin using this one for about 2 months.

AM:
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Moisturizer
- Sunscreen

PM:
- Cleanser
- Toner
- Exfoliant
- Clay Mask (bi-weekly to weekly)
- Benzoyl Peroxide
- Moisturizer
- Lightening Cream

I also use a microfiber towel and change pillow cases every day.
>>

Any decent budget brands recommended or do any do the job?

How does mixing indian healing clay with apple cider vinegar improve it as a mask? Is it okay to just mix it with water if I don't have any vinegar?

Also, when should I start using eye cream?
>>
>>10849108

Get the braggs acvinegar

Clay is basic and needs the acidity of the vinegar to be best for your skin
>>
>>10849112

>>
>>10849092
Cetaphil, CeraVe, and Stridex are ok. Just don't be cheap on stuff like sunscreen that shit is important.

>>10849076
OP said that he got dark lips from smoking. He doesn't want dark lips. Solution: dont smoke.

>>10849108
Yeah you can use water but apple cider vinegar is better because like what >>10849112 said.

I bought mine from Costco (those huge Heinz brand ones).

Also, I think you can get away with using a regular moisturizer as an eye cream. Not sure tho
>>
>>10849064
Lightening cream?
Any tips on that?

it'll take a few weeks before you start noticing improvement. Just be sure to continue a regular care routine with daily washing.

>>
>>10851267
actually, haven't really tried much except using salycylic acid at night, a basic cleanser in the morning + moisturizer/spf+30 right after, before going to class.

haven't seen an improvement i'd like. i'm thinking maybe it's because i sleep face down, and friction makes things worse.

recommend an AHA/BHA?

Best SPF Moisturiser for shit tier that breaks out all the time?

Or best suncream and Moisturiser combo? Trying to fade these red marks, want to reduce sun exposure
>>
>>10852512
Look for those with zinc oxide or titanium dioxide with about SPF 30. Those generally perform well under tests. For sunscreen overapplying is generally better than underapplying. I use EltaMD and it works great.

For moisturizer something like cetaphil or cerave would do fine.

It's better if you buy separate moisturizer and sunscreen so you can moisturize without wasting sunscreen (like at nights).

>>10851865
Maybe use a physical exfoliant with a regular cleanser? Idk tho

>>10851918
For AHA/BHA, it all depends on the skin. AHA is generally for dry skin and BHA for oily/acne-prone skin. I use BHA (just the regular Stridex Reds) as I have an oily skin. Paula's Choice has solid offerings for both. Note that AHA does increase photosensitivity so use it durinh the night to be safe

What can I do about these little holes/spots on my nose/cheek/lower forehead. I don't think their black heads but some of them have black "dirt" inside.
>>
>>10853812
Sebaceous filaments.

No permanent solution, but in daily life can minimise their appearance with a pore blurring/minimising/reducing primer. Smash box and benefit have well known ones, although benefits is tinted so you may want to not go for that one. Maybelline do an excellent one for a low price in their baby skin range.

Basically you apply it to your face and, in the case of the clear ones, it just gives a slight blurring to the skins texture making it look more even and making sebaceous filaments and large pores less obvious.
Usually used to create a smooth surface for foundation to last longer on but it's perfectly fine to use them alone.

Just wash your face properly after.

I'm using alpha beta hydroxy. I'm quite new to a consistent rroutine, but it seems to have reduced the size of my pores and is helping prevent any black beads quite well with constant use.

is lush bollocks?

pic related.
>>
>>10854673
I tried some of their stuff that my gf got me for Christmas (Side note: I actually bought her stuff there for xmas but her skin is really sensitive so I tried to ask if she'd ever heard of it and could use it without being too obvious, but she thought it sounded cool so she bought me stuff from there) and it's come out pretty nicely. It's expensive, and I'm not sure if it's worth it, but I have the "blackface" and sandstone face/body wash, and then some like sea salt and lemon paste that irritated the shit out of my skin. Aside from the sea salt stuff, I think it's pretty nice.
>>
>>10854673
Depends entirely on the product.
Which ones in particular are you thinking of?
I'll say off the bat that grease lightning on your photo is excellent and enchanted eye cream makes a great gentle daily facial moisturiser but their strength tends to be in haircare.
>>
>>10854710
I'm not entirely sure, I have no skincare routine pretty much and there's a store nearby so was going to go in and ask for help. Would probably appreciate help you guys more though.
>>
>>10854673
I and an ex used to use it just for funsies. Some of it worked like a champ, some of it seemed to suck ass and just smell good. Others might have better insight into what currently works well.
>>
>>10854719
Ok, well starting from the photo you posted:

>Grease lightning -
excellent at doing what it says on the bottle. Make sure to moisturise after using it though because it is drying. I've had spots disappear within 24 hours using that.

>Angels on bare skin -
I tend to find their solid cleansers a bit gimmicky and pointless so I'm biased against it. My personal favourite cleanser of theirs is 9 to 5 because it's gentle and effective, but of the solid ones aobs is the least irritating. The ones with charcoal or scrub pieces have a tendency to irritate people's skin.

>Ocean Salt -
See I know a lot of people love it, but on paper it's horrendous. Abrasive with alcohol. It's like abuse for your skin. Once every fortnight might not be a problem if you like physical exfoliation, but that's like saying dragging your nails over your face might not be a problem if done rarely enough.

>Vanishing cream -
Very light, so if you're on the oilier side it's probably a good one. Careful with the perfumes in their moisturisers though, sometimes the fragrances can be irritating so patch test before using it all over. That's why I prefer enchanted eye cream. Although imperialis is good too without being too specialised for oily or dry. Celestial is also supposed to be good, but broke me out so proceed with caution and ymmv.
>>
>>10854673
Oh shit I just realized the salt thing I mentioned is in your photo. Would not recommend it. It has alcohol, salt, and lemon, and basically made me face scratched, red, and burning.
>>
>>10854764
Overall my recommendations for skincare from lush would be

>grease lightning for localised spot treatment
>cosmetic lad as a moisturiser for sensitive or drier skins, imperialis or enchanted eye cream as a moisturiser for normal, combination and oily
>Movis as a morning cleanser, 9 to 5 as evening. Ultrabland if you need make up removal.
>Don't look at me face mask if you like occasional physical exfoliation, the sacred truth if want temporary lessening of dullness and cosmetic catastrophe for spots
> toner tabs and water are shite so ignore them
>>
>>10854781
Also I feel I should add I have a family member who works at lush so through them I've tried a ridiculous number of their products so if anyone wants a quick rundown of anything they're considering I'm happy to put forward opinion/experiences
>>
>>10854673
>Cleanser
I'd recommend either Dark Angels, charcoal cleanser great if you have acne, or Aqua Marina, it smells gross but it's gentle and soothing.
>Face Masks
The Cupcake mask is the best, it looks like chocolate cake batter and it helps acne like a champ.
>Moisturizer
Imperialis, the best moisturizer I've tried hands down.
>>
>>10854803
Amy experience with the hair products?
>>
Anyone have any idea how to deal with keloids? I have some on my jawline
>>
>>10854835
Yep. For reference I have thick hair that consists of a very high number of finer strands which have a tendency to frizz, rather than thick and coarse. Wavy, about a 2b. Tendency to dandruff and sensitive scalp.

Personal favourites are
>fairly traded honey shampoo
I find it works excellent for dandruff. Very sticky and can be difficult to rinse out if you're in a rush
>American cream conditioner
I hear mixed reviews, but for me personally it works excellently. Leaves my hair softer and less frizzy than it would otherwise be. May not work for fine thin hair as it can be quite heavy.
>jasmine and henna frizz ease
Again, reduces frizz and I always find my hair looks shinier with it, smells absurdly good as well
>Jason and the Argan oil
Great name and good shampo for when you're in a rush.

I find the hot oil hair treatments feel nice but ultimately make little difference to the hair, and soak and float did nothing for my dandruff.
Also avoid the co washes unless you have coarse hair, and the solid conditioners apparently work well on coarse hair too but for me they just drag, tangle and never get a workable lather.

I've tried more outside that list too, so if you want a specific product recommendation I can probably help but those are the big standouts and big let downs in my mind.

>>
>>10855060
because like many on this board, you were too poor/afraid/stupid to go to one
>>
>>10853812
stridex aha pads and oil cleansing will help you with this
the stridex in the red box is best. to use you wash your face, dry it and then take the pad and basically rub it all over your face (at night) then let it dry fully (you will feel your face go a bit tight) then you apple your moisturiser and whatever else btw this takes about 2 weeks to show good results

oil cleansing is pretty basic just google how to do it. it works because the sebaceous filaments in your nose are non-polar substances and thus can only dissolve in other non-polar substances (i.e. oil)
>>
>>10854600
yes the stridex works really well if you use it properly, also you should look into oil cleansing
>>
I was a dumb ass and popped a big pimple near my lip. There's no puss anymore and it stopped bleeding, but now it's huge and red.

What should I put on it? I have neosporin, tea tree oil, Aloe Vera, Vaseline, and BP.

Also would ibuprofen aid the swelling/redness at all?

thanks guys
>>
>>10856410
if you pop it, dont pierce directly into the pimple but pierce from the side then pull the needle up. check youtube for tutorials. always disinfect your needles and throw them when done. draw the blood out with a cotton ball and slight alcohol then apply hydrocolloid bandage.

fucking up somewhere in this process makes it swollen red.

>>
>>10858037
Quoting from laugh bovine, someone used this to get rid of theirs completely
>I've been dying to tell people about this for a while now but I stumbled across a little-known recipe for a topical treatment for keratosis pilaris, and, like, you guys all need to start using this.

>Keratosis pilaris (those unsightly skin/coloured red bumps you get on your upper arms and forearms) has plagued me for 6 years now and I thought I'd tried every (affordable) trick in the book from tea tree oil to derma rollers to more hydration to general ex-foliation.
I'd pretty much given up treating it at this point and felt resigned to waiting for them to hopefully even out, but 1 month ago I found this recipe by mistake on a skincare forum.

>The recipe is as follows:

2.5 tsp 88% lactic acid
1/4 cup + 2 tsp of preferred water-base lotion (it's very important that it's water-based)
3 big drops of the preservative germaben or 6 small ones (the germaben is unnecessary if you're mixing the lactic acid with a branded moisturiser/lotion as it will already contain preservatives).

>So, I purchased 500ml of the lactic acid at 88%, on the day I received it I mixed it up with my Palmer's Cocoa Butter w/ Vitamin E and began applying it to my arms.
>It stung at first, because, you know, acid, and I don't think my test pot was completely diluted so maybe the concentration of LA was a bit too high, but OH MY GOD THE RESULTS.

I wouldn't recommend those unless your skin is really messed up in spots, usually the ingredients can harm your skin because it's bleaching it. Asian ones are probably better but I still think there's a risk in any of them.

But if you're interested they're usually in the ethnic care sections of stores. I've seen porcelana with the normal skincare stuff too.

What do with this shitty skin ?
>>
>>10861461
Are you using a clean sharp razor and a making sure any aftershave products aren't irritating your skin?
The placement of that makes me think it's related to shaving somehow.
>>
>>10861470

Yes this pic is right after the shave, which is the moment that my skin looks the shittier. I don't use any aftershave, I just shave with a disposable razor and some shaving cream then I apply a Nivea moisturizing cream. I'm pretty sure i'm shaving badly though, is a beard trimmer less agressive for the skin ?
>>
>>10861498
I'd make sure it's not the Nivea causing it, I used their night cream and it broke me the fuck out. Apparently some of their products can be pretty comodegenic for some people. Might be nothing to do with that, but it's worth looking into.

Other than that I can't help I'm afraid. I'm not the bearded variety. But I'm sure there's plenty of online communities that know what they're talking about when it comes to shaving irritation.
>>
>>10861526

>>
>>10849191
Yep, cleanse cheaply, moisturize expensively. I use Cetaphil (8 bucks canadian) to cleanse and a $50 hyraluronic acid serum to moisturize. Once in the morning and once before bed.

You can use apple cider vinegar on your hair as well, if you're no-poo.
>>
>>10862866
Which type of Cetaphil is best to use? I saw it in a shop after anon rec'd but didn't know which one to get?
>>
>>10862886
I like the gentle skin cleanser (haven't tried the oily but I have classic combination skin and the gentle type is magic - cleans without overdrying). It might have a pump cap but mine doesn't.

Also as a bonus, it leaves the skin "open" and the perfect texture to take moisturizer afterwards.

Guys is this shit good?

It was kinda cheap so I decided to buy it

First off, avoid touching your face! You'll be surprised how much this helps. Wash your pillowcases and towels more than once a decade. Lay off the cigs (or at least don't smoke so much).

Get a super bland basic cleaner like CeraVe or Cetaphil. Keep in shower and use every day. You can use an exfoliant if you must but not more than once a week, and your cleanser usually takes care of that stuff anyway.

If you have dry, tight, flaky skin sometimes, you must moisturize (really everyone should regardless but it's extra important for you types). This is often the trickiest thing for people because you need to find something that won't give you acne. I would stay away from putting coconut oil on your face for that reason: it's comedogenic (it'll clog your pores) If you like the feel of oil, and who doesn't, get PURE argan oil (not that moroccanoil shit for your hair). Clinique makes some really good ones, though avoid jar packaging (less sanitary and air exposure to active ingredients makes them duller)

If you have oily or acne-prone skin, consider serums instead of moisturizers. They're lighter in feel. Overnight spot-treat your acne, whiteheads etc. with gel containing benzoyl peroxide (which coincidentally is the active ingredient in Proactiv but you can easily find a drugstore treatment with BP that's way less mall tier.) Salicylic acid is just OK for the occasional zit.

Long term results: get a moisturizer and a lip balm with sunscreen. Sunfuckingscreen. Try to find products with AHA, BHA, or hyaluronic acid not too far down in the ingredients list (Paula's Choice makes some good ones with not embarrassing packaging), and a little retinol is good for reversing sun damage and wrinkles. The best cure is prevention, though.

Anyone else use the regimen from acne.org, I've been on it for probable a year and a half now, my skin is definitely clearer but I feel like it's so tenuous that if I miss a morning or a night of cleaning I'll definitely break out. Also my skin gets this awful flakey scaley look, don't know if it's from my shitty disposable razor or I'm not moisturizing enough, and I use probably 2 tablespoons of moisturizer.

I am thinking of buying vitamin C serum and argan oil from gardenofwisdom.com. Has anyone bought from them before, are they legit?
>>
>>10863051
I tried it a few years back, but the benzoyl peroxide/moisturizer combo really hurt my skin for some reason and my skin also got flaky. I don't really see any reason to put benzoyl peroxide on your entire face. Just put it on your spots, it will just dry out and damage the healthy skin.

Good to know as I haven't really tried anything other than the gentle (stopped looking for better ones because it did the trick). Do you moisturize afterwards?
>>
>>10866166
You can use either a physical exfoliant (crushed walnut scrub, salt etc.) or better yet, a chemical one. Chemical exfoliants (like AHA and BHA, look for them in ingredients) do so much more, like shrink your pores and control wrinkles, and generally give you a "glow".

I'd stay away from microbeads because environment.
>>
>>10866166
dont use walnut for exfoliation anon. just get a towel add some cleanser and use circle motions to physically exfoliate.

vitamin c can help with whitening

>>10866175
make sure theyre the ones without alcohol

vitamin c serum to speed up recovery

I have tiny white and red bumbs all over my back and shoulders. I have had them for about 5 years and haven't really cared about them till now. Does anyone know anything that could get rid of them? I also have really sensitive skin.
>>
>>10866331
I don't use it anymore, but when I did I used BP right after, which dried my skin even more.
>>
>>10866175
No it's not normal. The red stridex pads are 2.0% salicylic acid. Salicylic acid is a chemical exfoliant. If you are using stridex pads you don't need to be physically exfoliating. That means only using your hands to wash your face. You don't need to be using stridex pads every day. Try the green box, it's 0.5% salicylic acid. If it stings then you shouldn't be exfoliating - duh?
>>
>>10866513
Stinging is never good. (even the Noxema 'tingle' is bullshit). If it feels wrong, it probably is wrong.

>M-Maybe my face will get used to it?
You don't want that.

Return the red box for the green box at the store you got it. Say it irritated your face or something, money back.

0.5% is probably the lowest worth going. At that level it's more gentle than gently scrubbing your face. Don't scrub your face, it's bad. Stridex is the cheapest.

What should I do about my shitty skin /fa/? It has been like this for years and I tried everything. When I don't use moisturizer after showering, it gets all dry and skin comes off and I get red marks, when I use it I get pimples really fast. But those red marks are always there. On this picture it looks quite okay but trust me it looks worse most of the time.

Also excuse the shitty stache, I have a free week and try to grow it out, which is a challenge since i am half asian. Bonus nose hair included.

I think a lot of the face problems after shaving could be solved by getting a safety razor, costed about 60 bucks (30 razor, 10 for pack of random razor blades, 20 for badger brush and 5 for provoso shaving cream (rough estimates). Much better shave and a lot less irradiation

as an aside... An easy way to tell a breakout from an AHA/BHA purge is: are the pimples in the places where you normally get acne? If yes, stick it out for 14 days. If not, then you gotta move on and fond a better formulation.

(cleansers etc. do not cause purging)
